Depends on what part of the country you are talking about! The North Coast doesn't have a rainy season at all!

That being said we do get the tails of the hurricanes that pass by although historically we haven't taken a hit from one here and we just get the rains!

This season we have been very dry and we had rain yesterday for the first time in 45 days thankfully as my plants were crying for water:)

I rent out Luxury condos here in Sosua that are real nice 2 bed/2 bath and the closest condos to the main beach for $600 US dollars a week so you can certainly find nice places for 800 Sterling per person:)

No. Not much, but I think december is better. It's less rainy than on November and it's a little breezy. I personally like the Riu Palace Macao in Punta cana. It's about 200 dollars per person and it's an all inclusive beach resort.

Even though it's rainy season, it's really nice to be there. It's not too much rain at all. Maybe a couple of days with clouds, and rain at night.
My boyfriend and I went to cabarete in the north-east of Dom.rep in july - and it was perfect! We stayed at Velero beach resort - a four star, very clean rooms, nice decorated, and nice view close to the beach. I can highly recommend it - its a really romantic place. Cabarete is a fun place to stay if you're into a bit of water-action like windsurfing, surfing, kiting! It's all over - and the poeple staying there are erally nice & welcoming! It's a relaxing & lovely place to stay!

I stayed at the Casa Marina Beach in Sousa. The hotel was fantastic, food was great, and so much going on with the entertainment. Me and my boyfriend went January this year two weeks all inclusive for £485 per person. We booked end of November last year. Nov - Feb is the best time to go!! You will have a fantastic time out there.
