Go to Cuba and see for yourself. dont expect to see limosines, Beverly hills city likes... no glamour, just the cuban people, trying to be nice with everyone, trying to survive the daily strugle of food, transportation, heat... life.

Cubans will give you the shirt off their backs, they are incredibly proud of their country and want visitors to enjoy what they have to offer, a beautiful country, history and culture. If you have the opportunity to visit by all means do so. Go once and chances are you will be back. Here are a couple of sites to check out. I'm back November 30th for my ninth trip. I have met people who have been there thirty-five times. Caramba! Now that is a love affair. By the way, everyone is not moving to the U. S. A. Many in other countries, the same as Cuba have no use for the American government with their hypocritical attitude towards Cuba. If the U. S. lifted the embargo, life for Cubans would most likely improve immensely.

But is Cuba nice in general? The answer is a definitive YES!!

I spent some great time there travelling and studying anf found these people are among the nicest people anywhere. They are educated and curious about where you come from. And despite all the crap they hav had to live through, they have very high spirits. They are also quite innovative, creating many items to do the jobs of equipment they cannot buy abroad.

Don't let the propaganda fool you. While Cuba does have its problems, a visit here will be one of the most rewarding ever. But don't expect to find the lights of Vegas and posh surroundings everywhere, unless you want to pay for it!

As far as nice ,the people are so nice, not like in the states where people are so greedy and selfish, my last trip to cuba a family invited my for dinner even thought they didn't have much they were willing to give, such a wonderful attribute lost in our winner take all society..

I love Cuba, its a fantastic place, the Cubans are some of the most friendly people in the whole world, I have never been to America so can't compare the two, for me Cuba is a wonderful place and can't wait to go back at Easter next year.

I'm cuban and I left cuba when i was five years old. Cuba is a great country. However castro's regime has destroyed the infrastructure of the country leaving it in what now can be compared to ruins. It's a beautiful country with beautiful beaches and attractions.

Aesthetically, Cuba is about as nice as a formerly soviet aligned, formerly isolationist, communist, third-world Caribbean island can be. That means- the historic buildings are in shambles (but that doesn't take away from their significance, and you can still sense their former glory), and the new buildings are what I call, "Nouveau-Ukraine." The beaches are quite beautiful and in the tourist resorts, you'd be hard pressed to find any evidence that you're in a communist country.

The people are absolutely lovely though, and I adore Havana Club Rum.

It's just a shame that people are giving me thumbs down... shame they can't agree with the truth :(

What? Have you seen all the people leaving there to come here? As soon as you find the country all the Americans and the rest of the world is moving to then you can say that. So far everyone is moving to the USA, that must tell you something.
