Walt disney pictures has reportedly made tentative plans to shoot a fourth film in 2009.Johnny Depp has stated that he would love to play Jack Sparrow for another trilogy "if they had a good script." In February 2007, after filming was completed on Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, screenwriter Terry Rossio said he and Ted Elliott may try to write a screenplay, though "It's like the fourth Indiana Jones picture â€” there are forces in play to make it happen, and forces in play to make it not happen."

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has indicated interest in a spin-off, but was exhausted by the trilogy's production.Gore Verbinski feels that "the big danger is diminishing the brand... it would have to be a tale worthy of telling" for him to return.[6] If the director returned, he noted that "I would start fresh and focus on the further adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow." Keira Knightley has stated that she does not wish to continue playing her character of Elizabeth Swann as she wants to do different projects, since she has been involved in the filming since she was 17 years old.
so lets hope for the best..i think there will be 4th movie..but i dont thing the star cast remains the same....there will be lot of changes.

I've heard that there are discussions regarding a possible fourth movie. I know Johnny has stated that he'd jump at the chance to play Jack again, but Keira Knighly wouldn't come back to reprise her role. Not sure about Orlando Bloom.

I also know that Depp is rumored to be appearing in the subsequent Sin City movies.

It isn't going to be a 4, if they do make it it will be all about Jack Sparrow.

umm, you know, some say yes, some say no. im not sure, johnny depp said if there was one , hed LOVE to be Jack Sparrow again! they left the movie off at the end where there COULD be a sequel, but im not too sure, if i find out, ill be sure to let you know!(somehow lol)

I heard from my brother-in-law that is friends with someone that worked on the films that there is supposed to be seven in the series. It depends on how well the last movie does as to whether or not they will be released in the theater or go straight to DVD. Also, it depends on if the actors are willing to sign on again.

no..it was a trilogy..they may make a new series about one one of the characters..maybe the same genre..but it will not be a fourth..sorry to say it =[
