You can certainly mail a letter without any enclosure to Cuba. I just checked the USPS site, and they say it costs 84 cents for a 1-ounce (28 gram) letter.

If you want to send more -- a parcel, say -- you send it from Canada or Mexico. There are illicit van services that take stuff there. Legally they can only ship medicines and books on behalf of residents of the USA but I know some people have sent clothing.

Yes, they will send mail to Cuba. My husband is from there and sends mail to his family all the time. It just takes a little longer is all.

Do you really think that the USPS refuses to deliver letters from the 2/3 of a million Cubans in the US to their relatives in Cuba?

Just mail the letter.

Yes I think you can But don't be in a hurry for a reply the US Mail will send to any zip code you have American stamp on....

I doubt that but you can route it thru canada if you wish you just can't send anything to purifiy water or make a bomb ect...

You can mail a letter from USA to Cuba.
The following is from the United States Postal Service website:

Mail service is limited to letters in the usual form, Braille letters for the blind, postcards, and printed matter sent as airmail or economy (surface) letter-post items, International Priority Airmail (IPA) items, or International Surface Airlift (ISAL) mailpieces. Parcel post service is not available.

Prohibitions
Coins; banknotes; currency notes; securities payable to bearer; manufactured and unmanufactured platinum, gold and silver; precious stones; jewelry; and other valuable articles.

Musical letters or cards that play a sound recording when opened.

Perishable infectious biological substances.

Perishable noninfectious biological substances.

Radioactive materials.

Note: Small packets (air or surface) are not admitted to Cuba.

Restrictions

Currency, postage stamps for sale or exchange, checks, securities, and other financial instruments must be licensed by the U.S. Treasury Department.
