Yes, its fine! Im leaving for Puerto Plata this week:) But the temperature is pretty consistant throughout the year, so no worries there:) In regard to the comment above about hurricane season. Im not sure if July is exactly hurricane season but if it is dont worry about it. Im sure you will be fine. I have took many vacations in August and I have never come in contact with a hurricane. Last year I was in Cuba and I forget the hurricane's name but it didnt hit us at all:) One time I was in Mexico and we missed a hurricane by a week. But dont worry, its always a risk going down south but well worth it. The airline wont let you fly down if there is a hurricane so dont worry:)

Yes, it's going to be hot. But you booked a place with AC and a pool. It's close to the ocean and you'll feel a breeze. Stay in the shade, take a siesta from 2 to 5 like the Dominicans. And enjoy the night when it always cools down. It's avocado season and we may still have mangos, so it's a great time to come. Lifestyles is very nice. It is located in a quieter tourist area just before coming into the city. You can take public transport or taxi to town and check things out. I recommend the teleferico (cable car) to overlook the city and rural area. It's park like so bring a picnic and camara. You will be close to Ocean world. You can check out their website if that interests you. Otherwise, just enjoy the all inclusive.

The hotel is one of the nicest of its type on the North Coast. You should have a great tiem. I have only been there as a guest but I was very impressed.

I have lived here for about 8 years and have seen many hotels.

Good timing ! and good choice ! The Lifestyle Resorts are just great! If you need some good info about excursions just contact me on my mail. The one's in hotels are very expensive.
