Hello!! Well it's not legal in fact it's penalized, but authorities really don't care a lot, so you can find this kind of services in almost every corner, with keys in the hands xD. People who does it is as women as men. Men use to be dressed like women, you really can confuse them. Many of them have SIDA, but well is their lifestyle, and gotta respect them. Prostitution in the Dominican Republic is Legal as long as your 18 or older. Sometimes corrupted cops play extortion on these women to scare them cause most of them dont know their right. but the reality is that it is legal. |

It's my understanding it is not legal nor is it illegal. The local Commandante seems to decide whether to permit overt prostitution or keeping it less obvious. Even small communities throughout the DR often have a bordello. |
