Is st thomas virgin islands part of the united states?

Sa_San
yes it is, along with St. Croix, and St. John. But it's not a state. It's part of U.S. territory.

mountain lady
The last person is right. It is a territory, not a State or a Commonwealth. American Samoa is similar.

As a territory of the U.S, you could say it is "part" of the United States. The citizens are U.S. citizens, the mail is delivered buy the USPS. The people there have a representative in the U.S. Congress. The Virgn Islands are not physically attatched to the mainland U.S., but then neither are Alaska and Hawaii. A territory is still a part of the country as a political entity.

Mr. T's Pretty Cuzzin
Neither the first 2 answers. It is a US Territory.

LA Smith
Yes, St. Thomas is part of the United States Virgin Islands (as opposed to the British Virgin Islands owned by England). The USVI were purchased by the US from Denmark for $25 Million in 1917. The islands have been under US rule ever since.

stella39
St Thomas is a territory of the USA. The people are US citizens but they can't vote in the presidential elections. )

cfb193
It is a Commonwealth of USA

No it's not a part of the USA.
