I lived there 10 months and I loved it! But, you can't be high maintenance unless you plan to only spend time at the resort. The real life there can be uncomfortable (hot, electricity goes on and off daily, etc) but always adventurous. Tons of outdoors activities, like great hikes (Pico Duarte, Mogote, 28 waterfalls at DamaJagua, el Limon), beautiful beaches and waterfalls, great dancing and many other things make it a wonderful experience!

Im Dominican and I say Hell yea...the beaches are gorgeous..and Dominican Boys are the cutest trust me you will fall in love when you see them island boys

It is a very beautiful country and has a very diffrent way of life, I have always found it intresting to learn diffrent cultures. If you go there snorkeling/diving is a must. The water and reefs are beautiful.

A friend of mine was offered a job a s a casino marketing manager there, but she only couldn´t stand living there!! Conditions for locals are awful.
You can go only on vcation and enjoy the marvellous weather and beaches!
