I was in the D.R. [Punta Cana]in June. Some people got sick, but most did not.I think some got sick because it was an all inclusive and they are and drank[and drank and drank] there way to it.If you change your eating and drinking habits for a week your body can take so much. Then it gets ill with all the extras you put into it.In this case that you are talking about it was another source. But most of sickness from being a broad is caused by over indulgence.

I've heard they shut it if you go to the travel agents they should be able to change your hotel

Happy Feet
The Dominican Republic has always been safe! It was an outbreak in a remote hotel near Rio San Juan, due to a English tourist who was contaminated before arrival!!!!
I´m a tour operator here at the north coast.

I would check with your travel agent. When I went our hotel was spotless and the following year it was in the papers that that hotel had a food poising outbreak. What I would recommend no matter where you are staying take dodgy tummy medicine. Also what you find because its all inclusive some people drink like they will never see drink again and then blame it on the food when they fall ill.

foxfire
I personally wouldnt stay there. Changs hotels.

People are always gettring sick there - no matter where they stay.

Sanmigsean
People that partonize all-inclusives deserve what they get. They serve cheap booze, and prepare food as econimically as they can (like in a cafeteria).

Go to a real hotel near some real restaurants, and you will have a better time and have better quality. Cabarete is great - stay away from cheap-o all-inclusives.
