Yes there is always a fee. If you use a bank, its a percentage of the amount being transfered (with a minimum charge applicable). |

Money brokers will always charge you. The best, but not safest, way is to send a money order. If you want a safe way to send money, you are going to have to pay extra. |

Yes there is a fee and it is a percentage of the money sent, but there are different rates dependent upon how much money you are sending, BUT you dont even want to consider a bank. The person has to go to the specific bank and wait in line after recording your name or taking a number. The process takes place at customer service desk and trust me, Jamaica is the only place that I see so many people in the banks even though ATMs abound. Whatever the cost go western union. Look at their fee and split the money if necessary to cut down on cost to send it. After you send that money you can call the person you're sending to and they can pick up the money immediately at ANY Western Union location. Its Western Union hands down, and if the person is unable to collect it they can send it to the persons bank account.
Some Western Union offices are packed at the month-end but the wait is NOTHING like in the banks..and if you don't want to wait just go to another location. |

I work for a bank and I know their is a $35 fee to send a wire and a $15 to accept one. I believe most banks are more though. And it's an international wire so they can fee more for that too. |

Western Union charges about 10% so try to avoid that method if you can. |

Yes, there is. Usually more than just the fee your bank will charge, too, as the receiving bank or those along the transfer point tend to charge fees before the person gets the money. It is better to send it through Moneygram, as they have very cheap rates, cheaper than Western Union. Banks tend to charge more overall than either of those depending on how much you are sending. |

Yes and no. Banks are usually cheaper than Western Union, especially if you have an account. But most banks require your name to be on both accounts, the one you're wiring from and to, before they process the transfer. SO Western Union may be your best bet. And most WU locations allow you to pick up the transfer within hours. |
