And back to the topic I'm sure some of them do...to each his own. I've met Puerto Ricans who prefer merengue and salsa and I've met some who feel like Reggaeton is personified meaning of Puerto Rican people....so I guess so. |

since im puerto rican many plp think everybody like it but nooo!! i hate reggaeton i think its for ghetto plp..i hate too salsa or merengue and i cant even dance. anyway i think many plp still like it.

Many people in PR does not like reggaeton, in various levels. It is very popular among teenagers and young people. And since they buy a lot of music and concert tickets artistis of other styles (slasa. merengue, etc) are including regeatton in their albums to boost sales. |

Reggaeton is not my cup of tea. This is not to say I hate it, but I would like to think I have embraced it one form or another. The art of listening to it has helped in that aspect.
What I don't embrace is Reggaeton music cursing or degrading women. This also applies to any genre. Music that becomes repetitive with no poetic or message can easily be consider noise pollution. |

Of course a lot of Puerto Rican don't like reggaeton. Usually teenagers are divided in two groups the reggetoneros and the rockers. The same with young adult. Also a lot of Puerto Ricans like Spanish rock.
I honestly think that salsa and merengue are not very popular in the younger crowd. It's more an adult thing.
But me I love reggeaton!!!! LOL |

Most Puerto Ricans do not like reggaeton. The vast majority of us consider it to be noise, not music. The performers are the kind of people you would never want your children to look up to as role models. There's always a segment of society that gets into things like this, but mainstream Puerto Rico thinks its garbage. |
