There are sharks , but I never heard of anybody getting bitten or eaten by a shark here. I know they are more frequent in one side of the island I think is in the North but I'm not sure. Also there is always lifeguards on the beach and if there is any shark close they close the beach.

I remember once in a summer day with a lot of people on the beach the news went outside in the helicopter to get a pic of the day in the beach of hundreds of puerto ricans and they catch in film a shark that was close to the shore, of course there was no people in the water bc the lifeguard was already warning the people. But I think it was amazing how the camera man capture the shark. I remember it was on the public Beach in Dorado, I live very close so I was a regular on that beach.

Yeah there are sharks there, go to El Ambique in Isla Verde and order Tiburon Bites - It is like shark nuggets and they are totally awesome - you could actually probably eat shark at a lot of different places, but I had good ones there.

Sure they are ! =o) I've never actually seen it while I've been on the beach ... but I've seen them a couple of times when they catch them ... there are some areas where they alert you 'cause of the sharks ..
