Like everyone with common sense said, yes it is illegal in Jamaica, to the point where you could be jailed if it is found growing in your backyard and it can be proven that it was being taken care of (by the way, the only proof this justice system needs is word-of-mouth from police.) Yes, it is easy to get access to, but you would have to hide to use it. |

Actually weed is NOT legal in all places in Jamaica. It is a commonly miss understood law, since practically anyone can smoke in open places. But by Jamaican law, it is only legal to smoke weed in house holds or smoke shops.
Typically speaking, you would not get arrested for smoking on the beach, but a person can not legally smoke weed in a public outside area. |

Yes!! weed is illegal in Jamaica contrary to what most people think. U can go to Jail for it. even rastafarians are not 'allowed' to smoke weed, even though many of them do it. |

Yes it is ILLEGAL. Additionally when I stopped in Jamaica on a Caribbean cruise we were warned of the stings that the locals would do. The dealer would sell you joint, then walk over to the cop and tell him who bought it. They'd arrest you, take the joint, and then <get this> give it back to the dealer to resell!!
Not worth it for me...the rum was tasty and plentiful enough. |

It's not legal, but I think they have trouble enforcing it because it's everywhere. Depends on where you are also. I visited Montego Bay, Ocos Rio, and Kingston, in Kingston it was everywhere. |
