Go to St John in the US Virgin Islands. Caneel Bay Resort is right on the beach and not a high rise. Beautiful beaches and low key. Lovely place to honeymoon.

For something a little closer, go to Antigua.

Go to the Bahamas. And if your looking for low key and the most beautiful beach in the world go to Exuma (one of the Bahamian Family Islands) They're is also Eleuthera which had pink sand beaches. But the Bahamas is a very good choice to look into. You have many options and many islands all in one country. You can stay on Nassau, which has alot of night life but also alot of people, or Freeport-Grand Bahama which is very nice and a little calmer or any of the family islands which are totally laid back.

Have a look at Langkawi in Malaysia, it is on the tourist trail but there are lots of resorts that are just huts along the beach.
If you want something completely off the beaten track have a look at Nias island off the west coast of Sumatra. Very backward but quiet and unassuming. It takes a fair amount of time to get there. You need to fly to Medan, Indonesia first...

Try the House in Barbados, it's lower key, very romantic and just the right location, only 20 minutes from Bridgetown.
