Grand Market night a.k.a Christmas Eve.

The best parties go down at that time. Everybody on the island is looking forward to christmas and is happy and looking to have fun.

Plus some store are open all night and you can get great shopping discounts.

Jamaica is a wonderfull island, if your planning on going to Jamaica I figure you,ll more likely be staying in an hotel on the north coast(Montego Bay,Negril,Ocho Rios) where there's magical beaches and lots of site seeing,Jamaica is a developing country and the only reason you would have to go inland is if your going to visit someone you know... Kingston is the capital of Jamaica, its not really a tourist town more like a commercial district....but just like L.A. you wouldnt want to end up in South Central..Jamaica rules

Jamaica is gorgeous! You won't be dissapointed! and try not to just stay in your resort as you will miss all that natural beauty the island has to offer. I would recommend visiting The Blue Lagoon and Dunns river Falls.

I've never been there, but I've heard some good, some bad stories, but that's not in my place to judge. I'd have to go there and see for myself but I'm sure I'd love it. My sister went there years ago, and stayed in Negril, she had it cheap, and went with friends. She said it was alright, so that's her. But for me, I'm sure I'd have a blast. I'm currently in Barbados and already having a blast.

The best holiday in Jamiaca was my honeymoon...stayed at Sandals in Montego Bay. Beautiful beaches...beautiful sunsets...loved it!

For DJS... why would you not want to end up in South Central LA? Stereotype much? I live in South Central...we're hard working, voting, tax paying human beings just like everyone else! It's not all like what you see on TV.

Probably Bob Marley's birthday which was on april 6th. That's like a holiday there. One that I like a lot!!!

Just came back from jamaica 2 weeks ago. Wouldn't go there again. The resort was fine, food and lovely beach. But when you go outside I felt intimidated. Not safe. Went to Montego Bay. They wouldn't leave you alone, pulling you into their shops, following you down the street etc.We actually went and sat back in the mini bus as we had enough of it. Need someone with you to keep them away. Had to sign out if you left the beach at the resort as they are not responsible for your safety. Quite dirty as well as you go around the island. Was very disappointed. Been to the Caribbean quite a few times and this was the worst.

I don't know. Always wanted to go there, but I hear that you can not (should not) move freely around the island, so you are often more or less stranded in your own hotel complex.
I don't know if this is true, but I have been told this from several different sources.
