Jamaica vs. Bahamas for a honeymoon???

You're less likely to get robbed, raped or murdered in the Bahamas.

Of course, being a honeymoon, you might want to just hang out in the hotel all day, in which case, either destination is fine.

I hated Jamaica when I was there - there's something about the cows in the middle of the road, non-working cell service half of the time, people hounding you to buy things and to braid your hair, and always feeling unsafe that doesn't do it for me.

It all depends on what type of people you are... although staying at an all inclusive hotel will mean that you will hardly go out of it... so it really don't matter.
I have been to both countries... Jamaica is way more wild (that's why I like it better).... nature there is amazing... Jamaica means land of wood and water... and its so true
Bahamas is more organized... more "plastic" but the roads are better... the service is better and its less dangerous to walk around
In conclusion... if you are planning not to leave the hotel... just book the cheapest one.. its the same thing....
if you like nature... music and adventure Jamaica
if you like to find something more similar to America then Bahamas

first of all if you're going to an all-inclusive, you're not running around areas of jamaica that are dangerous. wake up people.

if you are going to sandals, choose the one that matches you. each one is different. the one in the bahamas has a british feel to it (complete with a pub they shipped over from GB piece by piece).

i'd go with sandals whitehouse to get away from it all.....

Sandals in Jamaica is awesome. Lots of fun games for young couples, cat cruises, shows, etc....very safe...the one in Negril is great but I would do the one at Dunns River so you can hike the falls with your new hubby! For best prices we have found go to goclassy.com

The Bahamas is very commercialized. Even though I liked the Bahamas (I stayed in Nassau), Jamaica is more exotic and not as "touristy" in my own opinion. I would recommend Jamaica. Try Negril, Ocho Rios or Montego Bay. If you go, make sure to be prepared to encounter grinding poverty. Tropicaltours-ja.com might even have some excursions that you and your fiance could plan while there.

Whatever you do, beware of the Jamaican Ackee. It's a fruit that is poisonous in certain circumstances and that tourists have gotten extremely sick from. It causes a vomiting illness. Make sure not to eat it.
