Less money spend by the tourists in Jamaica because it isn't a gay friendly destination.?

10% more money would be spend in Jamaica if it was a gay friendly destination. What is your thoughts about that issue?

Jamaica is a Christian country why the hell it should be a gay friendly destination. I agree with Jamaica to ban all abomination to the island.

I hope Jamaica continue to keep out all the evil, and not be influence by other countries lifestyle. Dont worry about Jamaica not getting the 10%, they will survive as long as they continue to abide by the word of God they will always be blessed.

No compromise period.

Shelley L
I doubt it.
I don't think that the gay factor has much of an impact. Jamaican resorts are packed with tourists.

damn right its not a gay friendly destination.

You Shouldn't Have
My dear Speakout, what do you want, a "gay day" like Disney World so you can hold your boyfriends hand and makeout with him out in the open? Would that make you happy? I'm sure thousands of gays go there annually. Poor thing, when you come to grips with the fact that what your doing is wrong, you'll be a much bigger person. Quit expecting the world to change or demanding we accept your inappropriate behavior. The best place for that is in the closet. Learn how to behave in public.
Have a great day. :-/

for us, money isnt everything. im sure we'd have alot more money coming in if we had brothels for prostitutes... yeh, nuff more money would roll in... but what impact would it have on our children? no amount of money can pay for that...

if we legalised ganja...ofcourse! we'd have more tourists and get nuff more money but although people still smoke it down here (like it legal) alot more people dont because its banned. As said before, we are a christian nation and our moral and religious beliefs arent in tune with homosexuality. its not a personal thing, because i for one dont hate gays and many persons would not attack them but at the same time, we wont promote or endorse it at the expense of our morals...no matter what its worth.
also if the gays take over jamaica...you know how much more people would be leaving? would the 10% more money be worth it then? i dont think so

Robert W
Jamaica is gay neutral as long as you do not openly flaunt your homosexuality

bombastic
You are assuming that gay people do not go to Jamaica. You are wrong of course. Lots of gay people go there and have a good time as well. While it is true that Jamaicans are not as accepting of "openly gay" people as Americans are, I don't believe that, in itself, is putting a dent in tourism.

MO
Don't mask your intolerance behind the Christian religion. At one time Christianity also endorsed slavery......................

sugarlips
the obiously gay couples we encountered in Jamaica were not treated any differently than anyone else, at least in our experience.

ctelly22
I don't think they are losing any money. Jamaica is one of the most popular Caribbean vacation destinations. Between the resorts and the cruises, they're not hurting. I think the countries job is to satisfy the residents not the tourists. If this is what the residents want then it has to be respected.

If it is because of gay, then they can keep their money. Jamaica is an Island built on morals and principles, and oh well if gay people don't want to go there and spend their money. As a matter of fact I wouldn't mind if they wouldn't go there and spend and corrupt the place with their dirty lifestyle. We will survive without that 10% cos we have principles, morals and we trust in God.
