Looking for island in the caribbean that is secluded and not world famous..?

We are looking for an island in the Caribbean or elsewhere tropical for a vacation, possibly a wedding, but we don't want to be around a million tourists the entire time. Any ideas?

Try St. Kitts/Nevis(it was the first island I visited and almost by a fluke). I have since been to many of the Caribbean islands and that is the one I felt was relatively easy to get to (at least it had an airport and commercial flights) and was definitely the least touristy. In fact, we went there around 10 years ago and I don't think it has developed any more; I think their government tries to restrict tourism and I haven't seen tours to St.Kitts promoted in a long time. Another choice would be Dominica (not the Dominican Republic) but it is more difficult to get to.

Yeah, check out the Bahamas. I read something recently that said some of their islands contain huge amounts of unexplored land.

I would suggest Dominica or even St. Vincent.......

The Bahamas alone have several islands and don't get married during touristic months.

The Dominican Republic is pretty nice I went there for a class trip.

turks and Caicos. BEAUTIFUL beaches. Not really built up. I went November of last year very few tourists. Quite a few canadien and US ex-patriote. Most people say Turks and WHO?

But they want to be a tourist island so they have the types of amenities and resorts that make you want to travel. Including weddings on the beach. Only about 2 hrs from the US. (miami)

British Virgin Islands are the way to go. The American islands are built-up, but most of the British islands have like one street with restaurants and stores, and the rest of the islands are untouched. If you have the money, i recommend boating between them.
