I stayed at this hotel with my husband last year for our anniversary and had an excellent time. The beach is beautiful and staff are very helpful and friendly- as most Cubans are! Food is good and varied, bit remember it is a develping country. 3 good beer selections - Mayabe, Cristal and Buccanero and plenty of Rum!

Don't forget to mention to guest services that you are on your honeymoon as they will organise some things for you.

If you get the chance then book on the dolphin excursion. It's a 3 hour round trip but it's so worth it!

Also take some good mozzy repellant with you, not a problem during the day but had a few bites between 7-8pm in the evenings.

Have a great time!

Cuba has some absolutely fantastic beaches, really soft silver sand and the water, where it is protected by an offshore reef, is so warm it is like getting in to a bath. The people are very friendly as well.

Two words of advice..,
1) The people are very poor, if your maid offers to sort out your laundry for you, she will probably be doing it herself, that is fine for contributing to the local economy but the quality of the laundering may be less than desirable. (I speak from experience).
2) Make sure you take and use some powerful anti mosquito spray, they are absolutely voracious. If you are susceptible make sure you cover up well in the evenings and, at night, however tempting it is to leave the windows open and listen to the sea, don't, close them and leave the air-con on.

3) The locals will appreciate small gifts that they find difficult to get in Cuba. Even if they do not want things you give to them they can always sell or barter them to their friends.

Anywayu have a lovely wedding and a great honeymoon. Good luck!

I went to Cuba two years ago for my Honeymoon. It was the best trip ever! I do have a few tips in mind for you, If you go on an excursion take your own loo roll, you may find someplaces charge and you might not get enough! Go on a trip to Havana and go to the Tropicana It's amazing! Go swimming with Dolphins (unless you're pregnant). Leave you're maid a gift at the begining of your trip and you'll be treated like royalty! what they can do with a towell is amazing! You will have a great time! Good Luck!

Check the site below for the reviews. The reviews are very good. Some people who visit this site must live in a cocoon, the free world is quite able to go to Cuba. You are in for a real treat there is tons of stuff to do in Cuba, Cubans are remarkable and so proud of their country. Have a wonderful honeymoon, you've made a great choice.

go to www.tripadvosor.com - you will find everything you need to know about the resort and place you are staying - you will even get reviews good and bad from people who have stayed there - and their pics and videos too

I understand from friends that simple gifts of everyday consumer goods are well appreciated due to the shortages caused by the USA embargo. But if I'm been told wrong, I wouldn't want to patronise the Cubans.
