Perhaps y'all can let us know how you DEFINE 'good man'. Every woman's definition of 'stepping up' is different. For some women, if a man cant pay their woman's apartment rent, light and water bill AND phone bills (land line and cellular), then he is not their 'type'. Others will 'straight up' target the 'good men' who buy cars for thier 'previous/other' women...

There are Jamaican women for whom, a Range Rover must be in the picture some where. Some will settle for a CRV.

I must admit that, some women don't care if their man is a 'walk-foot' joe. Its about 'what is in his heart', etc.

So what are YOUR requirements?

That is a common situation for many Jamaican women... the man dem short and we plenty.

I think we should start making our own selves happy and not pursue men too much. If we can be single and happy we will be more attractive and perhaps meet more people doing things we like.

Amen Vanitee!

Women run that country from the inside, but governMENt take all the credit. Every community...every church...every social action has women at the core. I spend time there, and never fail to be amazed. Both at the women's strength and the men's collective failings.

And no - not ALL men there, but enough to make it statistically true.

I have to answer this question and disagree with you. I am Trinidadian and my first bf was jamaican. I lived on campus in jamaica and he introduced me to everything jamaican and made me feel like I was home while I lived in Jamaica and now I am happily married and my husband is Jamaican and he is a very good man. RESPONSIBLE, LOVING, CARING. He takes care of everything and we are so very happy. he is my best friend, he is everything to me. THERE ARE GOOD JAMAICAN MEN OUT THERE. Just an example: I have 6 other cousins my age group, we all got married around the same time, they are all married to Trinidadians and they have problems. Some husband drunkard. Some husband cheating. All sorts of unnecessary problems and I am indian, my husband is afro jamaican and we are soooooooo very happy. Just letting you guys know there are good Jamaican men out there

Maybe you are looking in the wrong place,
I think that men local and abroad is the same thing.
Its not isolated to Jamaican men, men on the whole are lacking in may ways. I think that a unique issue with Jamaican men, is the multiple families. That is ALL too common and in my opinion disgusting.
Why is it a Jamaican man must have a million different children with a million different women and none of dem know bout each other????

Girl, I am thinking the best thing for you to do is look outside the box, and try another island, or race etc... since you are having an issue with Jamaican men.

Maybe you can search in www.match.com

I'm sure you'll find some nice men there, either Jamaican or other citizenship...
