Must do/Must see things in Jamaica?

I'm going to Jamaica next week for a 5 day vacation and I'm wondering what people who have been there before would recommend me doing while I'm there. I'll be staying at a hotel at Montego Bay.

Also, any other kind of travel advice would be greatly appreciated! I want to make the most out of this trip!

jamaica is a beautiful place. i am sure you will have a lot of fun. the hotel that you are staying at will probably offer tours and outings that you can sign up for. here are i few places that i highly recommend if you are going to montego bay. you should definately check out the following places, they are relatively close by....
1. dunns river falls (what can i say this falls is stunning.)
2. Dolphin Cove at Treasure Reef (a bit expensive but swimming with the dolphins is a great experience.)
3. GREEN GROTTO CAVES (this will gove you a little bit about the natural beauty of the country. i loved this place a really unique experience)
4. Rose Hall Great House ( this will give you a little bit about the history and folklore of jamaica and the jamaican people)
5. Chukka Cove Polo Club & Tours (these people have a website. you should check it out. they have lots of fun and exciting tours that you can do anything form river cruises to horseback riding they have it. if you want a little bit of adventure this is a place to check out.)

i dont agree with that "traveler" person....i feel he is a Jafaker ....i am jamaican and have experience and the crime rate is not high in the tourist area and cops wont arrest you for smoking ganja but its still bad to do. And i also suggest that you go to passa passa

I_know_all
Smoke weed......lol.....

Well actually there is more to do then just that. There are tons of Night Clubs in Kingston. And of course the beaches. Trust me, u wont ever become bored.

Hey Hunni,

I have not been to Jamaica personally but my sister has and now I know all the details. The hotel advises you stay within the hotel campus as Jamacia is still a dangerous place esspecialy Kingston town beacuse of muggings ect. But hotels do run activities such as horse riding where you get the chance to ride a horse along by the sea, helicopter trips, trips to the beach via sand buggies, scuba diving and much much more!

Hope you have a great holiday and you have fun

Stay safe tho!

Stay away from the weed unless you want jail time. The hotel will attempt to lure you to their tours which is OK as it sounds like it will be your first trip to Jamaica. Dunns River Falls is a must see--about 2 hours away just outside Ocho Rios. Need to try some good jerk chicken. Get away from the hotel during the day and take in the local culture. Crime might be high but if you are street smart and watch yourself you shouldn't have any trouble during the day. Take a bamboo raft trip down one of the rivers. Relax. Send postcards to friends back home rubbing it in. Enjoy yourself as there is enough to do without worrying about what to do before you get there. There isn't any need to go to Kingston--to far and nothing there unless you super into Bob Marley.
