My Norweigen cruise adds a gratuity of $10 p.person p. day, can i remove this as I've heard the staff dnt gt

I would rather tip the waiter or house keeper directly as Ive heard the cruiselines keep the money. I would like it to be up to me. We are going on a 15 day cruise at $20 a day tips for both of us. They also add an additional 15% to all bar tabs. Does anyone know if this grat is removeable?

They are the worst cruise lines. I hope you have not booked yet. You can't get out of the tipping. You have to give them a major credit card when you board and every time you want something it's charged to your card. They automatically charge your CC for the gratuities. That's alot of tip. I hope you get good service.
Good Luck

Screw NCL. Go Carinival or any of the other cruise lines. I won't patronige a business that add's a % of your bill TO the bill. What if the service suc*s? You still have to pay the 15%.

I was at a restaurant on Maui earlier in the month & they had in writing, on the menu "that a 15% gratuity would be added to parties of 4 or more persons". Well, there were only 2 of us.

go to the customer relations desk & make them remove it but the unskilled staff usualy get $45 a month plus their share of the tips. I liked Holland America line,

NCL is the worst cruise line ever. You can get out of the tipping, if you go to the purser's office and tell them not to take it out. I'll never go on NCL again... ever.

Yes you can I went on a cruise in Jan. and me and my boyfriend had it removed by going to the front desk! And they do add 15% to each bar tab! Every time you order a drink you can put it on your tab, you sign the paper and 15% is added. But you can pay cash each time you buy a drink and they don't add the 15%. But when we went to Mexico on our criuse we bought alcohol in Mexico and just took it aboard with us!

When you get settled on board, go to the purser desk and tell them not to add gratis. Ask for some envelopes so you can label them and pass them out yourself.
Explanation: I want to tip the ones that give me the service. They won't argue with you...Check you bill real close the last night and make sure they honored your request.
