t's been my good fortune to have visited Cuba nine times and going back in december. I've never bothered with shots. You might also talk to your doctor about pills. In Cuba I enjoy Sol Melia Rio Luna, Holguin, it's an incredible resort, great staff, beach and excellent dining. Check the links below they will give you lots of info. Cuba is very definitely a great place to go for a honeymoon or vacation. The beaches are terrific, the scenery fantastic, there's no shortage of activities to keep you going day and night. Cubans are proud of their country, they welcome visitors with open arms and will treat you like visiting royalty. Chances are if you you go once you will return again and again. Check the sites below they contain tons of information.Especially check tripadvisor for lots of reviews by previous visitors. |

I've gone to the DR for years and years.. No vaccinations needed, plenty of ATMs. Good cheap dining and lots of tours. Mountain Bike tours, white water rafting, waterfalls and you can meet the local people. Stay at the beach but don't miss out on the mountains there. |

were going to the dom rep in 3 weeks for our honeymoon!
ive been for my jabs and only had one-it was a combined hep a and typhoid.im petrified of needles, but its better than contracting a horrible disease and dying isnt it.plus there was nothing to worry about honest-i didnt even feel it,was in and out within 3 minutes.arm was sore for a couple of days and felt heavy-but thats it!you can only have tablets instead for malaria, but you must get the jabs for the other things.. |

Forget these two places, even though they are nice. Get yourselves to Mexico. No jabs needed and much, much more to do! |

I had to have the jabs for Domrep and im petrified of needles too......I felt such an idiot after putting up such a fuss about not wanting to have these jabs to my dr when I didnt even FEEL them.
I had to ask if she was finished!!!
Seriously, they don't hurt at all. Im the biggest whimp ever.
Explain to DR you won't be leaving the resort..this way less jabs!
Can I add - My aunt who I went to Domrep with, went twice, both times with me & never had any jabs...shes fine & was on holiday too. No problems at all.. I think these jabs are just a case of 'better to be safe than sorry' not.. if you don't have them you WILL catch something. I don't think they HAVE to be done. Quite a few people we met at our resort didnt have jabs when we went! Both times infact. |

Your boyfriend is being a little foolish as the vaccinations are essential otherwise he could become ill and even die abroad. Also the country will not allow you entrance if you have NOT had the vaccines.
As a nurse I do understand people fearing needles BUT at end of day the vaccinations are essential.
Offer to go with him and tell him to look away whilst the jabs are being done. |

I would suggest cuba as a first choice, it is safer and the cuban people are so friendly.
The cayos are beautiful but not much to do outside your hotel.
My only choice would be Mexico, i have travelled alot, and beleive me Mexico was fantastic, Cancun was great, lots to do great beaches or Riviera Mayo was nice and very green and very safe.
Tell your fiance that the injections are not that bad, i went to my doctors and said to the nurse that i was terrified but they were fine, apart from the TB one were it does leave your arm a bit dead for a couple of days, but you do need them! |

Hey where do you guys live? If you live in the US then think about going to Puerto Rico. You won't need any type of shots or tablets. The water & food are safe & everyone there is vaccinated.

No you have to have jabs unfortunately, i hate them too!!
I was set on going to Cuba last summer, ended up in Jamaica. Most beautiful place i've ever been...definately something to consider? Google Couples (name of hotel), Jamaica and you should see some amazing hotels...no either. Highly recommended!! |
