My boyfriend and I are coming to Jamaica! What should we do?

I do know that Jamaica does not like gay people but we are going to risk it and see how much we can get away with. What are the gayist places in Jamaica?

there are no gayist places in Jamaica. Jamaica's law bans buggery which is when you insert your penis into someone's anus - man or woman.
I do not advise you to push anyone to the limit by 'seeing how much you can get away with' as in exhibit A: http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/news/html/20070214t220000-0500_119155_obs_cops_save_three_alleged_homosexuals_from_angry_crowd.asp

Please keep your acts to yourself.

Take the name of Jesus with you.

umm last i checked we DONT have jungles here in jamaica....ahhh idk wat that dude is tlkn about. (people love chat wha dem no know) Rastafarians live among everyone else they arnt segregated so i dont see how u can avoid them. and its not only the rastas who have a problem with gay pple....majority of the population does as long as u dont express ur sexuality with PDA's u will be perfectly safe. As for the gayest place my yute me nuh know good luck wit dat

There are NO GAY places in Jamaica (maybe if there is an underground, underworld thing but only the Gays here would know about it and they are so secretive. Please Please do not act 'all gay and flaming' when u come here. We DO NOT LIKE TO SEE THAT TYPE OF THING. If u r Gay and we dont know about it then that is fine. I am pretty tolerant but most jamaican, expecially the men are NOT. So if u MUST come to Jamaica, just act normal and u will be fine. If u r like "Jack from Will and Grace Gay', then choose another country for your vacation.

Professor Oglevee is so funny....But on a serious note, don't risk it, Jo-D is right, rastas are everywhere, you can't avoid them really, and as far as I know about "Jungle" it is a town or whatever, not the Tarzan Jane jungle as my first impression was when reading onelovelyredhead's answer. Also Jo-D is still right, you should be fine as long as you don't express yourself with public display of affections (PDAs) I wouldn't risk it though, read about what goes on in Jamaica as far as homosexuality is concerned. Jamaicans aren't exactly known for their hospitality towards homosexuals...and jus like the prof said "you've been warned" and my thing is, you know all this, so, enter at your own risk, but exercise caution.

TO BE HONEST JAMAICANS DONT EXCEPT GAYS IN OUR COUNTRY SO ITS BEST IF YOU TWO DO DECIDE TO GO PRETEND AS IF YOU TWO ARE JUST FRIENDS BECAUSE IF YOU TWO SHOW YOUR SEXUALITY YOU'LL BE IN GREAT DANGER!

Jamaicans and its government do not harass ours visitors or criticize their lifestyle. We are not an ignorant society, as a middle income country we are intelligent enough to know the importance of being hospitable to our guest regardless of their religion, sexuality and beliefs. The hedoism chain of hotels amongs others have activities for all sexuality (I heard)-check them out.

Honestly, Rastafarians have a huge problem with Gays. I don't know about Jamaican people as a whole but if I were you, I'd stay away from Rasta Settlements, etc.

Read this article & be safe.

HHEEEYYYY Professor Oglevee. I agree with Jo-D especially on the comment she made regarding the statement "JUNGLES IN JAMAICA" mi live 18 years an a fus mi a kno seh jungle deh inna jamaica unless a di nightclub or that community in kingston

onelovelyredhead
Been there...scary place....in my experience. They have a huge drug problem in Jamaica, dont know what part you are going to but it aint no paradise thats for sure! Definetaly stay away from the rastafarians, but they live way up in the jungles of jamaica.
