My boyfriend and I stayed at the Blue Bay in Puerto Plata. The food was sooooooo good! I can't remember if there was jet skiing at the hotel itself but they're site says "the local area is buzzing with things to do including horse riding, aquatic activities such as windsurfing, sailing, diving and water-skiing, a variety of shops, a casino, nightlife and even a cable car, which takes you to a spot for panoramic views of the bay." When I go back to DR, I will definitely go back to this resort.

Also, check Tripadvisor for hotel reviews. That's how I found this resort and how I pick every hotel I ever book.

Going back to Puerto Plata saturday!!!!!!!!!!
Going to Gran Ventana, cannot wait!
Will let you know how the resort is :)

Puerto Plata is typically cheaper to stay in than Punta Cana. I would recommend the Punta Cana area since there is a large number of newer hotels. The Iberostar hotels are pretty affordable but I am not certain what budget you would like to keep it to. You can check the link below and do a search for pricing by destination. This site typically has very good pricing.

My Husband and I are planning a trip right now, I found some great prices on cheapcaribbean.com

We went to Jamaica on our honeymoon to Sandals and spent over $3000. So I think the $1400 all inclusive sounds very affordable and the resort was Occidental in Punta Canta....so it's well known.

just got back from the Grand Oasis Marien in puerto plata and had an absolute blast! food was great, drinks were great, hotel & grounds were clean, safe and fun - beach was just gorgeous! went with my boyfriend and had a really romantic, lovely time. we've been to other all inclusives in the caribbean and felt like this place went above and beyond all our expectations. good luck!

I would recommend that you check out the Sirenis Punta Cana Resort or the Barcelo Dominican Beach Resort in Punta Cana. If you log onto Apple Vacations.com you can check these resorts out. Right now there is a Super Sale going on and you can save a ton of money! Both are all inclusive, have JetSki, and other water sport activities. Enjoy!

Oh don't go to an all inclusive puleeeeeeese. How boring and food isn't great either.

Cabarete is a young sports minded crowd that parties on the beach all nite long in many different clubs.

Hotels are 15 US and up a nite and that is on the beach.

Good Dominican Meal is under 5 bucks a person.
