I have been to the Dominican Republic for vacation 3 times, so I will rate it 8 for travel vacation. Beautiful beaches, great food and very nice people. Lots of culture here. You will find some transplants from Germany, Canadian and US living in the DR.
They have some beautiful resorts and if you vacation here, I think you will like it.

I've been there. I loved it and am excited to be going back in June. The Dominican Republic has so many great things about it: shopping, night life (no one knows how to party like the Dominicans), and the beaches are some of the best in the world. Also, accomodations at a great resort can be really reasonable. I give it a 10. |

I would give it a 5. If you want to have a great vacation---go to Mexico! The ocean is much more prettier, there are MORE things to see and do (like all the mayan ruins and Mexico City-BEAUTIFUL!, and did I mention it is much more AFFORDABLE?! |
