For a family of 4 with airfare for a week, plan on spending at least $10,000 dollars.

The best advice I can give you is check it out with your local travel agency. They have the connections for package deals.

A lot. I'd suggest that if you want to go to the Bahamas, you do something all-inclusive. That way you don't have to pay extra for food and drinks, etc. I always use http://www.flybymetravel.com

Bahamas is one of the most expensive countries in north america, and Atlantis is ten times worse, in a small village in the bahamas you will be charged $30 for an ordinary meal that would cost $8 in america, but at atlantis it is about $45-$50 and rooms are about $450 a night for the basic rooms at the royal towers which would have two queen beds and a couch and coffee table, but at the nasty coral towers or reef towers it is a disgusting room for $350 and it is two queen beds and a couch and coffee table, and some have balconies,but it is part of the atlantis hotel and it is on paradise island

It's super expensive and if you want to have good service you need to go first class with this resort. I highly recommend staying somewhere else and taking a day trip over there - it's about $40 to tour the grounds and aquariums. Atlantis has wayyyy to much hype!

A LOT! However, if you want to have use of the facilities at Atlantis, you can stay at Comfort Suites across the street for less. That won't help with the expense of meals, etc, but the room will be cheaper [and you may get a free breakfast].

To fly to New Providence and book into Atlantis yourself will be very expensive. Best bet is to speak with a travel agent and see what packages are available both with and without meals. Usually packages are a bit cheaper at the cusp of high and low season.

Meals are definitely higher on Paradise Island.

It depends on when you are going and where you're leaving from.
Airfare would be about between $314 - $680 for one plane ticket.
Atlantis range from when you go also.

Atlantis is SUPER expensive. It will cost approximately $400+ per room/night minus food, taxes, etc..

A friend of mine was recently there and said a kids grilled cheese sandwich cost $15.

Maybe you can find a deal by booking with a travel agency??

We (two people) were going November last. Worked out at $650 twin share per night. Everything expensive, but worth it for short stay.
