That is entirely false! Whoever told you that is a complete nincompoop! Puerto Rico has asphalt roads streets, drives, everything! Well, except in Old San Juan where you have brick roads, but those are for show and I just like WALKING instead of driving. Puerto Rico even has highways... I love it! It's so sunny and happy all the time!

Flor de Maga
Who ever told you that either was joking or he's the greatest moron in the world. I am from Puerto Rico (born and raised). Any trust-able source can tell you that Puerto Rico has more paved roads and highways per square mile, than any country in this world. You can confirm that fact with the US Department of Transportation.

Melissa C
Well,well,well....
Tell to the idiot, moron... that said that this, WE ARE A TERRITORY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!! So we receive US FUNDS, coming to our ISLAND is like be in any other STATE. Like said one of the people answer, check in the US Department of Transportation, in PR for every person who have drivers license are minimum 2.5 cars, we are one of the first nation in the world with so many cars circulation per square mile.

San Juan is an old town, it will look like any other old town. However, area metro is like any other place similar to the USA. Good luck with the traffic.

SANDRA Q
the island has no dirt roads, a lot of pot holes.

They do have paved streets in the city. They even have traffic lights! lol. But seriously, be careful on the roads or crossing the street after dark. At night, red lights are nothing but a mere suggestion. In fact the local laws allow drivers to treat red lights as stop signs late at night.
