i am from puerto rico!!! i love it! so beautiful, so warm, and such good food!!!!!!!!!! go to puerto rico!!! a good place to rent a car is budget car rental near the airport. ull want to travel the whole island, go to el yunque which is a tropical rainforest, the bakeries all around the island in every city u goto different pastries and bread all around , but the best ones in the world!!! go to the beach on theisland of culebra, i think it is like in the top 5 beaches on earth! so much to do, so beatiful, so warm, and somuch fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Compare the costs. Your dollar will go farther in Puerto Rico. Check out Rincon and Old San Juan. If you're not worried about how much you spend, go to Hawaii.

great surfing spots and full of friendly people
if you want something relaxing u should go to hawaii bcause they have less stuff to do there
if u like the city and the nature at the same time then you should goto puerto rico
to hawaii it takes about 10 hrs to puerto rico it takes about 4 1/2 hrs

Im puerto rican but Ive been to both places with my bf.
I like both, for they are similar in terms of tropical lifestyle, the only difference its the culture and the neatness. PR is a very beautiful place to visit because of its preserved cultural traditions, food, music, history and art. Even tought both countries use American dollars, PR is a bit less expensive than Hawaii and you can save more money and last longer in the island. If money is not an issue, then PR does have more spiced up nightlife environment, specially in San Juan PR. Hawaii is beautiful as well and more romantic of a place, also more perserved land and neatness than PR. The beaches are very clean, not only for the tourists but also for the residents who do take care more of their green island than puerto ricans do. Now, native Hawaiians are not to happy about Americans going to their island unless you keep in tourists places, so you may be welcome for some but not all. In PR everyone welcomes you, because we like tourists to go and see our island, and you dont have to keep only in tourists places. I say try Hawaii this year and another occassion try PR, and you will like both.

that depends on what type of environment you want;
if you want a more romantic vacation then ill choose Hawaii.
if you want a more spicy vacation then ill choose Puerto Rico.
Hawaii has volcanoes and are soo cool.also there is pearl harbor.and Waikikibeach the most beautifull beach in the world.
Puerto Rico has bioluminisent bays that are soo cool too. the third largest cave system in the world, also the only Tropical Rainforest in the US.and Flamenco Beach the second most beautifull beach in the world behind waikiki (based on the travel chanel rankings)

Ive been to both so trust me when I say puerto rico it rains so much in hawaii you can hardly do anything and little side note: Costa Rica is better then both just in case you can go there

I would pick ppurter rico.
If your going in the summer i would not suggjest purtue rico it has ALOT of hurricans!.
Hawwai is butifull.
but if u go suffing watch out for jellyfish and sharks!

So i recomend going to purter rico in the winter , late fall, and late spring.
if u go hawwii same there caouse jelly come out in the summer
so i would go fo purter rico!!!!!!!!!!!

i dont see how the water in PR would be better? they dont have that blue carribbean water.
