It is commonly called "peso", however the official name is "US dollar" ($ 1.00). Formally it is called "dolar" in spanish.
Yes, the green ones (and just recently with a tint of orange and other colors) with Washington, Lincoln, Hamilton, or Jefferson, etc. faces on it.
A quarter ($ 0.25 coin) is called "peseta".
A dime ($ 0.10 coin) is called "velloncillo", or "sencillo".
A nickel ($ 0.05 coin) is called "vellon".
