Yes you most likely can. But you have to contact your Rogers provider to inform them of your travels so they can set your phone on roaming.

Be prepared though for expensive charges. It'll be about $0.25 per message. This link will show you how to send a text message dialing internationally:
http://www.rogers.com/web/content/wireless-text/international_txt

Most of all, ensure that your GSM device is compatible with the GSM network frequency of the country you will be visiting (thus being Cuba). Please note your GSM phone or wireless handheld must operate on a country's listed frequency in order to make or receive calls.

Use this site at Rogers to double check more details...and then call them to be sure your phone is compatible.

By the way, you're going to LOVE Cayo Coco!

It depends on your cell phone plan. I suggest contacting your cell phone provider and asking them.

I have used my cell phone (rogers) in cuba quite a few times its cool to sit on the beach and call Canada. And the cost is not as much as I thought I did not make long calls just like

"hi mom its hot here is it hot in Montreal hahahaha"

Its really cool when you arrive in the country you will get a beep and a text from rogers saying rogers welcomes you to Cuba. Kind of fun but kind of scary they know where you are at all times

You most likely can but it will be very expensive to use your Rogers phone on International Roaming. Instead you should get a World SIM card from RebelFone. . That works in 200+ Countries at low & flat rates everywhere.. try the link below:

PS only 0.25 or 0.40 to send messages !? UK phones often charge £0.50, and Cuban phones $1.

As long as it's world phone such as a Motorola Krzr. no problem. On my last visit, I had a problem using mine to phone the U. S.A. although I received calls with no problem except the roaming fee was $4.00 per minute, ouch. I called Rogers when I returned to Canada and I had done things right so that my calls didn't go through was just a glitch. A friend used his to text and no problem, I think it was about .40 per message. Check Rogers (robbers.com) below.
