Romanitc waterfalls???

I dont know if there is any place like this for real but does anyone know where there are beautiful waterfalls that pour into a body of crystal blue water kind of like you see on the movies or am I just dreaming. I think that is soooo romantic and would like for me and my husband to go there on our anniversary.

Well it could be a number of falls as Jamaica has a lot of them, and because there were no pictures provided,i may have to give a few web sites, but first on my list will be Duns river falls, its huge 600 ft tall and is the most pictured falls in the island, located in St Ann close to Ochi Rios.
But here are a few others,YS falls in St Elizabeth at middle quaters 44 feet high and has the largest of any volume of water going over it than any other falls in Jamaica and it is very beauti ful,and Also Portland has a few, the most popular one there are the Reach falls located on the eastern side the John crow mountains,it has blue waters at its base, another falls in that parish is the Somerset falls located close to Portantonio the parish capital, its water is even bluer an its secluded on a property, then there is the Nonsuch falls with its towering water falls another more beauti ful falls,i suspect that your description may be found in this parish, and there are many more up in the Rio Grande Valley.
Then there's the Mayfield falls in Hanover on the northwest end of the island another spectacular one.
You never thought there were so many of them now didn't you,and to the others above me there are more than just one or two falls in Jamaica, and some of them may not be as big or as popular but are more romantic and beauti ful than Duns river, and are also secluded away from crowds of people.
Portland has some of Jamaica most dramatic and awsome water falls and mountain views that can be behold by any one.

Dunns River Falls is where you want to go then.

Dunns Falls are overcrowded, especially on the days cruise ships arrive. "Climb-climb-climb, hurry-hurry-hurry" nothing really romantic in that.
I would suggest Sommerset Falls in Portland, Mayfield Falls in Hanover or YS Falls in St. Elizabeth. Best place to reach Mayfield and YS is from Negril, Sommerset Falls from Port Antonio.

depending on where you are staying i would go to YS falls which is in Negril. it's not quite as big as Dunn Falls, but also not even close as many people. i just got back and when we went, there were maybe 10 other people (and there are at least 5 different areas to swim...)

Jababygirl
MayField falls and Dunn's River Falls. checkout www.Discoverjamaica.com www.ochoriosonestop.com and check places to go.

Try Dunns River Falls, which is in Ocho Rios. It is the most famous waterfalls in Jamaica. There are others like Reach Falls in Portlan which is lovey and YS Falls in St Elizabeth but they do not have the facilities that Dunns River offers.

Dunn's River isn't really all that romantic, its more an adventure. however a more romantic waterfalls would in Reich Falls in St Thomas, with the crying trees. cool huh, these trees guide you to the entrance of the falls, retain alot of moisture and at times release them from their leaves that gives it the illusion that the tree is crying. Its secluded very serene.............
