Roti all the way.
Roti taste much better than Jamaica Patties, it satisfies you differently, plus it's more versatile.

Patties are good tasting in it's own way and I like it , but not us much as I love Trini Roti
I have had both authentically in their respective countries or island.
The flavor and texture is so different in both foods, that you really can't compare, but then again on taste, Roti stands out 100% AS THE BEST BETWEEN THE TWO

I have had both and im sorry but u cant compare the two. It's like apples and oranges.
Jamaican cuisine differs completely from Trinidad's. But they are both soooo good. U need to have a roti so that u could kno u cant compare curry and beef patties.
Some things that Jamaicans eat I've never heard of before but when i taste it, it's just amazing. And vice versa with trinidadian food, im sure some jamaicans would be like wat the hell is a doubles?
Calalloo is the only thing thats would ring a bell for Jamaicans, but we actually make calalloo completely differently from them.

Roti! Roti! Roti! Roti! Roti! Roti! Roti! Roti!

It taste great and its very versatile! The varieties are:-

Plain Roti

Sada Roti - you can add anything inside it for a great sandwich (Kinda like Pita)

Dhalpurie - Roti with crushed split peas, usually this type is used to wrap the curry in - so its basically Roti to go!

Buss-up-shut or Paratha - Roti which is more moist and tender than the other types and it is broken up into pieces!

There could be more - but these are the most popular ones!
and of course we have many side dishes that goes with it - curried chicken, duck, goat, beef, lamb, shrimp, fish, veggies, pumpkin, bodi (string beans), curried channa, potatoes and many other veggies! Too many to list!

And thats why Roti is the better pick! Jamacian beef patties - yummmy but can't touch ROTI!

I've had both, but being Trini I'm partial to roti and all Trini foods, there are however some Jamaican foods that I like, such as jerk chicken

I like roti better. JA patties are good too, but i prefer roti and curry because i like the taste of it better than patties. There are different types of roti, and many things u can eat it with.

I have had both but honestly it depends on what you feeling to eat. I am from trindad, so I accustom to roti and you could eat roti with a lot of different things, jbp is great too, but it is one dimensional. but I have friends form jamaica and it tasty as well!!try roti!!

well i have had both....i will say what i like from each...not so sure about saying one is better than the other....but somedays iwant JA and some days i want Trini....love them both to death

they are right, you really cant compare a roti with jbp. roti is sooo much more versatile, you can have roti with any combination of meats and vegetables as opposed to a jbp.

imagine, ah buss up shot, milky white and light and fluffy, with curried channa and aloo, chataigne, pumpkin, bodi, mango amchar, goat, duck, shrimps, beef, chicken etc, and some mother-in-law, any combination of these or even all of these! or even wild meat - gouti, tattoo, iguana, mongoose, monkey, deer etc lol

there is no way to get a jbp with that combination!

ah would take roti anyday over beef patties. and not dat ah have anything against JA food, cause ah been to JA and ah love dey food. but trini ppl know dat dey food taste damn good!!

Patty are as you say a snack or a light lunch. Roti - that is a meal. It is two different enterties.

Roti is a bread eaten with Indian and Pakistani food. Originating the subcontinent, it differs greatly from a Jamaican Beef Patty. In my personal opinion, Roti is indeed much better :-)!

It depends on how yuh comparing them. As a meal or as a snack?

As a meal, yuh cyah beat a roti from Dopson's or One of the many many many roti shops, or better yet from somebody house LOL

As for the jamaican pattys: fantabulous. but they're a snack, unless yuh having like 3 at a time.

As a Trini I may be biased...but let me say I adore Jamaican Patties, we always trying to get people to bring for us at home...but seriously while patty is a snack or a good breakfast, roti is LIFE!

I've had all types ah Jamaican patties an all ah dem dose taste rel good.But ah is ah trini so ah does eat roti plenty.
