Try and look for charities that sponsor adventure trips like that. You pay for your trip by getting people to sponsor the charity. |

You need to watch the episode of LOCKED UP ABROAD in which 2 guys from ENGLAND hired a professional small boat captain to sail them to the caribbean to pick up nearly a TON of COCAIN... That is a very HARD TRIP for people who are not REAL SAILORS.. and nothing to do or even consider doing, just to be making a trip.
OH.. as the title implies... THEY WERE ARRESTED and spent 10 YEARS in a VENEZUELAIAN PRISON..
If you can't sail it yourself, then you have NO BUSINESS trying to do it in a small boat because YOU HAVE NOT A CLUE of what is involved... I can tell you for a fact.. as a former delivery skipper... that OCEAN VOYAGES on a small boat is NOT FOR BEGINNERS... because it can get old in a hurry... and it takes about a MONTH to make that slow speed crossing once you clear past northern Morocco. |

Sail? It is do able. The Brits after all had colonies in the Caribbean. It used to take them (6 weeks) 45 days to sail from England to Barbados. |

it's done by literally thousands of sailors each year......look up "The Atlantic Rally for Cruisers".......as a general overview, you need a boat about 35 to 45 feet, three crew are vastly preferable to two; trip can take about two months with a stop in the Canaries on the way here...leave either in May or October NOT in hurricane season; then about a month going back with stops in either Bermuda or New England....
there are several "cruising sailing" magazines over on your side of the pond; I don't remember their names but a little hunting will find them. They are a good source of who is doing what and how and when.....the why is obvious! |

You can try but be very careful as the sea can be very rough at times. Just make sure that you are well prepared. |

Yep it is... Lots of sailors take the trans-Atlantic journey from England or the Cannery islands and end up at ANTIGUA which is supposed to be directly pointed to England. |
