Sandals or Couples Jamaica? Which of each?

I am hoping to go to Jamaica in July. I can't decide where to stay - Couples or Sandals, and which one? I want nice beach, good snorkeling and good food. Thanks

I'm partial to Couples rather than Sandals. Better service, less hype, in my opinion...Feel free to e-mail me any questions.

Sandals is great. For snorkling try one in negril. But there is more to do in Ocho Rios.

The person above is negative his friends must have been hanging out in the wrong places with the wrong crowd.

It wasn't one of your options but I would actually recommend the Royal Plantation in Ocho Rios. They treat you like royalty there, plus it is all suites so you're guaranteed a nice room. When I was there, they were starting to redo all the rooms so they will all be nice. It is also only 79 rooms so the beach isn't too crowded and the beach butlers can be more attentive. The restaurants all have great food and they also have a champagne and caviar bar. I stayed there and it was a great experience. And if you're adventuresome I would recommend doing the Canopy Tour with Chukka Cove and instead of doing Dunn's Fall which is way too touristy, ask the hotel about the botanical garden there where you can climb up their waterfall. I don't remember what it was called, but it was the same experience without all the people around. I hope you have a good time. I went in August and the weather was great. Not too hot and a little rain but not anything to really slow you down.

Barbados. I have some friends that went to a high end resort in Jamaica and they were kidnapped and almost killed. Jamaica is not safe.
