Both are great, it just depends what you want to do. I think the Bahamas is a lot more common, I think that Barbados is a little more low-keyed and relaxing. Both are pretty nice. For me, I think I would go to Barbados.

Cruising is so great, you are going to have a blast. There is nothing quite like it ;-) Enjoy!!

Barbados! My favourite island...there is a lot to do in Barbados whether you are visiting a day or a month. For a day trip, you can visit the Mount Gay Rum Visitor's center which gives you an interesting history about the rum as well as samples at the end of your tour. The cost is about $5-7 US. There are also tours for Malibu Rum & their local beer, Banks.

There are tours to Harrison's Caves if you're into that sorta thing. There are party boats such as the Jolly Roger (with it's famous rum punch) where you can walk the plank or swing off the rope into the sea (save the drinks for after the swimming). There is duty free shopping, but that can still get expensive. Great deals on local rums though.

The island isn't as touristy as say the Bahamas and Virgin Islands. You won't get harrassed to get in taxis the moment you arrive. There is great nightlife in Barbados. You can stay in town and go to the Harbour Lights or Boatyard (both are by the beach with a nice outdoor setting). There is also the St. Lawrence Gap which is the hub of nightlife in Barbados, with restaurants, bars and a few clubs. There is so much more, but I'll leave the websites for that.

Both are nice but Bahamas is more common. Id go to Barbados, nice beaches, good shopping, nice people. They dont hustle as much as Bahamians. Cruises not as dangerous as people are making them out to be. U have to take into consideration the PASSENGER that u r talking about (there is plenty of liquor on a cruise!). Have fun!

I like both. The Bahamas could be best if they visit enough different islands. Barbados is cool, but it's basically just one place. Each of the Bahamian out-islands has its own personality, which makes it all more interesting.
