So if i am flying internationally wit my yr and half yr old daughter she has to have her own ticket?

I believe children under 2 fly free as long as you hold them in your lap. If you plan on taking a carrier (like car seat) and use up a seat, then you have to pay for it.

Check on the airline's website, they should have their children travel policy posted.

I think they can fly for free. As they are so young, they can just sit in your lap w/e.

I believe that children under a certain age can fly for free. Make sure you plan lots of extra time at security, and remember that most liquids are now banned since the deal the other day.

Here are the child fare policies for flights within the United States and flights between the United States and other countries:
Flights within the United States

An infant under 2 years of age can travel with you free of charge if held in your lap. No more than 2 infants can be held per row of seats. Contact Reservations and ask them to note on your reservation that you will be traveling with an infant.

If a seat next to you is available, you can use it for your child as long as you put her in an FAA-approved child restraint. If you want to be sure a seat is available, you'll need to purchase a ticket. (For more information on FAA-approved child restraints, see Infant & Child Seating.)

Children ages 2 and older must have a seat and pay a standard fare.
Flights Between the United States and Other Countries

All children, regardless of age, must have a ticket. The price of the ticket depends on the age of the child. For infants under the age of 2 and held in the adult's lap, the cost is usually about 10% of the adult fare plus any international taxes that apply. If you choose to purchase a seat, or if the child is 2 and older but under the age of 12, a discount off the standard adult fare may be offered. In some cases, no child discount is available. If you wish the child to sit in a seat next to you in a car seat then yes you have to reinburse the childs fare for the seat they would sell to someone else....

If you can seat the child in your lap then mostlikely if they are under two they can fly for free..

If you want to avoid this try flying into late hours at times when no one else wants to fly . chances are not that many people will be on the flight and you could seat her next to you for free :)

Only if you're using a Baby car seat...if you are going to have her in your lap in an International trip..you don't have to pay...

but how are you going to eat? move? etc...

I'm sure she is to young to have her own ticket as she will be sitting on your lap but you must find out also know that she must have her own passport or not I think she should but you need to find these out before hand

i think you start paying for tickets when their 2 yrs.
