Storms in Bahamas? |
I am going to the Bahamas soon, and I looked at the weather forecast. Everday I'm there says scattered thunderstorms, anywhere from a 30% to 60% chance. Does this mean that it will be constantly storming, or that it will come and go? Please let me know. thanks |

Well, here in the Bahamas, during the summer months, there's an increased risk or Daily thunderstorms, as with any tropical chain of islands. This usually starts up in May, and lasts through Late August. What I've noticed is that the forecasts call for thunderstorms, and that's just what they are.
they are thunder-storms, made up of thunder, it always threatens to rain, but these last couple of days, it hasn't been. all that's been happening is Mass thunder and lightning, i don't know why there's not any precipitation in the mix.
If you're going to come to the Bahamas in the summer, it's going to be about the same most days, possibly stormy, but you'll have to take the risk, it's worth the beaches and pina coladas. Just go a week, where the forecasts aren't that bad and depressing. Also, keep in mind that weather changes, and isn't limited to what the news says.
hope nothing rains on your vacation. |

This week ( Jul. 21-27) it rained every afternoon for a bit. Yesterday it rained all day here in Cable Beach. It is rainy season here now. So I can say it comes and goes. |

I live in the Bahamas and, in the summer time, thunderstorms develop almost every afternoon. They usually don't last long and don't hit all islands. |

Thundershowers or rain showers come and go regularly in the tropics. Check the site below. If you scroll down on it you can check the almanac for past years. |

The Caribbean is still feeling the effects of Hurricane Dolly, which is mostly gone. There are no other developing storms in the Atlantic at the moment. So the odds are that you will see brief amounts of rain rather than the heavy downpours from a storm or hurricane. |

Depends on when you go. But tropical rains are common most of the year and you can expect a little rain every day. But usually the rain happens about the same time every day and lasts only a few minutes. Easy to plan your activities around it. Besides that, the rain is usually very refreshing and welcome when on the beach. |
