Stubborn Jamaican Men!? |
Okay so been talking to this guy i met in JA for about 6 months now i just came back from seeing him in Oct. and im scheduled to go back in Feb so i was even considering trying to get him a visa to NYC not for love but to give him a opportunity.
everything been going okay between the both of us but a ex friend of mine that i went there with me and her is not speaking anymore so last week i fount out that she has been talking to him and she called me and left a message saying she found out info on him blah, blah blah so the information was he asked her to send him 30 bucks for a cousin bday.
anyways after her telling me this i went bizerk and cussed him out real bad and sent two text messages saying he probably just using me for a green card and that the lil bit of items that i was bringing down there for him i was giving to another man (who he knows is just a friend because the girl i mentioned was involved with him)
anyway after thinking about it i felt real silly because i felt like i fell into my ex friend trap to not have a good time while in JA i think what she told me is true but stretched all she had to say was no, i was really disrespectful but i feel we both was wrong i told him me and her are not friends anymore so why would you ask her for anything?
so now its about 20 days before i leave to go out there and i aplogized so many time via voicemail, text and continuing calling him he keeps ignoring all my calls so theres nomore i can do im not going to belittle myself im also thinking if he cared like he said he did he would have called me by now or at least give me the respect to say i dont want to talk to you anymore...
so i need a lil advice on this do you think he is just trying to make me sweat it out? or should i not be so hard on myself considering and dismiss him i havent spoke to him in a week after various attempts? |

You would probably love for me to tell you that you are being too hard on yourself but no such luck, you were wrong for being disrespectful and these are the consequences. However with that being said we all step a little out of line when we get upset at times. I feel he is just angry right now and anyone who cares about someone would be angry after being dissed by that individual. He will come around. $30 bucks is not a lot of money and just because you are not speaking to a friend does it also mean he has to also not speak to that friend? Unless it is not customary for him to call your ex-friend then I see no problem with him calling her.
Don't learn the hard way like most girls do. When you care about a man do not use another man to make him jealous, he will not want you more. He will simply leave you or get even, either way none of his actions will benefit you in the least.
When you are in the wrong, you should humble your self, it is not belittling yourself to apologize. Give him some time and he will call you. But learn from this ordeal. |

I suspect you have "island fever" mixed with a "low self esteem"
Your friend is trash and so is this dude "i would dump both of them"
i would leave his *** on the island
You live in NYC (I think) there's plenty of of jamaicans running around the Bronx's
I know
I use to be one of them :) |

You asked the question already. Forget him and get on with your life. Why should you be running down behind him and he has nothing to give you. He begged your friend for money. What kind of man would do this? Do you want someone like that in your life? He is just angry and shame because you found out what he did. |

Girl....I know what you are going through. I have a man in J.A. as well, and im always beign told that he's just using me for his papers. I go to visit him all the time and everytime its the best time in my life. In my heart I dont feel like he is using me and thats all that matters.
Sometimes we get into arguments because we are soo far apart, and listen to what other people are telling us. And he sometimes goes a week without responding to my texts, or calls. I get angry and tell myself that I am going to leave him alone. Eventually he calls, and we talk things out.
I'm not saying that its good, but you have to be prepared to deal with the up and downs of a long distance relationship, and understand that some Jamaican men are STUBBORN, because they were raised that way and dont really know another way to deal with the issues that relationships bring.
If you feel that you want to go down there and continue the relationship, that is your choice and only you know what is best for you...so stop listening to your friends, cause sometimes its jealousy also, and why did she have his number anyway???? |

I'm not trying to belittle you or Jamaican men but jamaicans have the tendency to take advantage of people who are too nice. I think he's just trying to find someone to bring him to foreign and he see's that you check for him. But if he respected you, he shouldn't have any words for ur friend. There's probably a lot of things that he didn't tell you about the conversation that he and ur ex-friend was having. I wouldn'tt trust it home girl. If u like Jamaican men, there are plenty of them here in America. I'm telling you this from experience because I went thru something very similarr. |
