Rev Run

Suspects in Natalee Holloway's disappearance re-arrested...What is your opinion?

I'm not surprised. Van Der Sloot looks like an arrogant spoiled kid and he probably did kill her. He probably thought he was gonna get away with it.

AFTERNOTE: The next yahoo member to answer here, "Bombastic," asks me questions without giving an email address to answer them. You sir, in all due respect, are simply wrong. Your premises and observations are inaccurate and have no logical correlation to the facts concerning the case in Aruba. I would write in greater detail, but you don't allow email, thereby allowing yourself to state blind and eroneous perceptions without any chance of rebuttal. Aruba, a "nation?" LOL. What happened there is the result of more than a few people. Research before you comment; from the murderers and the accomplices, on up to the currupt police force and local government, Aruba is in the dark ages of civilization. Do you also support OJ and his "innocence?" Lol...It is unfortunate what happened to your family members, but that has no bearing on the murder in Aruba. Read my post again, all of it, not just what you want to hear. And then "think." This is not a "nation,' but more of a very bad neighborhood which allows bad things to go on in the name of $$$. Don't let your anti-American sentiment affect your perception of what happened in Aruba.
And BTW, nice answer on Yahoo which you gave to the kid who's hamster died; that showed your true colors. Are you proud of yourself? Give yourself a good laugh at a kid's expense? Again, people never cease to amaze me....

I agree with the answers so far; It's about time and I hope the authorities aren't just putting on another PR show. The key player in this has a father who is so obviously as guilty as sin, but it helps to be a son of a judicial figure. "Just another tourist, sweep it under the rug..."
Unfortunately, I just read that the Dutch government has only till the end of the year before the case is closed forever, so this is all probably another "show." I have lived in Europe, and visited Holland, and I respect their decision to be drug legal; but I cannot accept or condone murder and sexual assault. Remember, this is NOT a one time incident; it only received international attention because of the valiant efforts of Natalee's parents. IT HAPPENS FREQUENTLY IN ARUBA! Some people don't understand that.
It is a crying shame what this dogpatch of South American, Dutch owned, tourist trap island has allowed to happen.
Even more tragic is thinking about how many other women were drugged and raped by locals on an ongoing basis. The local bars were proven to have "special" drink concoctions available behind the bar which the local boys could use to drug out the naive female tourists. Police smile and look the other way while under age drinking and drugs are encouraged.
I am amazed that anyone would even consider still going there or defending the island people who allow this to happen. I just answered a yahoo question from someone wondering if Aruba was a good destination; I couldn't believe how I was the ONLY person who felt strongly against patronizing this dangerous little island. All the responses were pro-Aruba, and one even had the indecency to make a joke about Natalee's death. Some people never cease to amaze me.
My heart goes out to Natalee's parents and family! Aruba has violated them, as well as allowed killer's to roam free, encouraging more crime. Along with the killers, the legal authorities responsible for the cover up should also be held liable.

kubay1999
yeah well him and his friends are the only prime suspects. there is no other leads or people of interest. They are guilty, they were the last to be seen with her and now she is dead.

They have not said what the new evidence is and I think that whatever that is will determine how good a case they now have. I just hope that they do now have some good solid evidence, like a body and/or something linked to these three with her blood on it.

ArubaLisa
Still no body has appeared so difficult to prove???

Please everyone keep in mind that Aruban/Dutch law does not work the same as it does in the US. A judge in Aruba must show cause to hold the suspects. They may just get released yet once again.

The new evidence as reported in a Dutch newspaper was gained through the use of wiretaps on the telephones of Vander Sloot and the Kalpoes.

Let's all hope for closure.

bombastic
I think it would be unfair to jump to conclusions. We don't know what evidence they have. If they do, I hope it is solid because it would be a disgrace to drag those three young men through the mud again if they are only doing it to appease Americans, at all costs.

As for the other yahoo person, Boxcar Joe, how can you judge an entire nation of people based on the deeds of a few people? Aren't there bars or places in the US where minors obtain alcohol, Ecstasy and other illegal drugs? Do you also realize that in the US, there are many more unsolved crimes than in Aruba or anywhere else? Do you not see how many other girls like Natalee have disappeared in the US without a trace? What do you have to say about the police here? You are acting as if Aruba is the worst place on earth and the US is perfect. Who are you trying to fool?

It is sad that the young lady disappeared and left such sorrow for her family. How do you know what really happened to her if you weren't there? Why should tourists stop going to Aruba because of this one incident? Do you know how many tourists are killed in the US every year? I have lived in the US for many years and I have had family members who were victims of crime right here but we have never used that to define America or Americans.
