Things to do in Barbados?

I am planning a trip to Barbados for a project, have 800 USD left, and was wondering if there's a must do, or must see I should plan on there.

Thanks in advance ^.^

It depends on what your interests are.

There are water activities including scuba diving and surfing. You can do a tour around the island, sightseeing.

There's great nightlife, too. Can be seen among Bay Street in The City (Bridgetown) such as Harbour Lights and The Boatyard, in St. Lawrence Gap (not only various clubs but restaurants/bars and hotels located there - a variety store and Internet cafe are a plus). There's also aClub Xtreme on Main Road in Hastings however not sure if this one is your thing.

You could do Atlantis Submarine, Sunbury Great House (Historic Plantation House Tours) and so on.

You can do mainly duty free shopping in the capital. There's one show you must see (only if you want to) is Bajan Roots & Rhythms Dinner Show.

Oh, there are beaches where you can have fun, too. Either it's just to go for a morning swim or evening or whatever. :)

http://www.barbados.org/tours/toursisl.htm - Tours of basically anything, you choose

http://www.barbados.org/nightlf.htm - Nightlife as I mentioned earlier

Please note entry fees varies from club to club.

There are other attractions to see such as Harrison's Cave, Oistins known as fishing town for FishFry every Fridays and Saturdays and so on.

I've been to Barbados about 30 times while working on cruise ships and I always make it a point to go to Blue Monkey Beach to go snorkeling with the turtles and at the ship wrecks. You can take the bus there and when you get there someone will be there to take you to the turtles and the ship wreck. If you don't have snorkeling gear, they will have some and expect to pay around $15 US per person. If you just wanna drink and enjoy a beach, go to The Boatyard where there will be tons of crew members, but make sure to keep your stuff safe while you are swimming. The Boatyard has a $5 US entry fee. Enjoy Barbados and be safe!

You can do a helicopter tour of the island, Banks Beer tour or Malibu Rum tour you can hang out at the beach afterwards. Bus tour usually on Sundays around the island.

Try and experience some of the top restaurants and enjoy dining by the sea.

You should visit Harrisons Cave, Ocean Park, Ariel Trek, Our wild life reserve and also Andromeda Gardens!

Highly Favoured
You have to go to Oistins in Christ Church a Friday night and buy some grilled fish, grill potatoes and tartar sauce from the Fish Net restaurant. This is a must and while you are at it you can just go across to Lexxie's bar and shake a leg. If you do not want to dance you can just see the people dancing in the open air. It will swell your heart to see them dancing especially a particular couple.

Additionally, you have to visit Harrison's Cave in St Thomas. It is an underground cave with stalactites and stalagmites. This can be incorporated in a island tour. Get a good taxi driver (my husband) that will tell you all about the island including how we got our name and where the first settlers can came in. You can also visit some other interesting places on this tour. This can end with the beach or a shopping trip but I would go with the beach.

These are some must see places and activities to do.

I'm getting some great ideas, and I used to live here!

Blue Monkey Beach and the Boatyard, I must keep that in mind!
