All I want for X-mas is a BFP!

Things to do in Puerto Rico?

I'm going to Puerto Rico in december to visit my mom who lives there. She recently moved back to take care of my Abuelita. I lived in PR till I was 5, went back for a week or two when I was 13, I'm now 25 and this is my first time as an adult going back.

I'm trying to figure out what I wanna do/see. I'm very interested in the Taino roots and culture, tradtional dances and music. Food, booze, and tattoos. I like reggaeton and am planning of finding a cousin to take me out dancing.

Any suggestions? I'm planning on being there from 12/20-12/31.
Additional Details
I'll be staying at my moms in Bayamon.

Since you will be there during the holidays, you will want to check the schedules of everything before deciding on what to do- things may be closed for the holidays....

But for the Taino part, you can go to Tibes Center (near Ponce) or even check out some petroglyphs in Arecibo or Naguabo.

Traditional dances- on Tuesday night, Le-Lo-Lai offers a free dance show at Fort San Cristobal. They also have a show in Isla Verde on Fri and one in Condado on Sat.

Reggaton-try clubs in OSJ- Lazer I think.... Da House will have dancing and booze.

Food and booze- Pinones is cool.

Can't help with the tattoos!

Other fun stuff-
ATV rides, Zip lines tours, snorkeling, the BioBay trip, Bacardi tour

Have fun!

you can go to el parque indigena caguana in Utuado or el tibes in ponce another place that you can go in ponce is la guancha,to the art museum, the seralle castle and to the town of loiza. if you want fun you can go to isla verde o el condado.

See an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, and eat some fine dinner at Le Zipperle. It seems you have ghetto tastes. Leave those in the mainland for a change.

Well if you want to look at the island from a tourists point of view, go to El Yunque Rainforest. There's a little video before your trip that talks about the taino roots. I found it pretty interesting. The actual Rainforest is stunning at La Mina falls is really inviting, but very cold! Also, take a trip over to Culebra Island. Vieques is usually the one visited, but Culebra is just as beautiful and a little quieter. You can rent a jeep and head over to Flamenco Beach, one of the world's most photographed beaches as I'm sure you know. Of course, since your in Bayamon I believe you are just a little over from San Juan. Old San Juan is really fun! There's a little cafe on Calle San Francisco called La Bombonero! Has the best mallorca in town! Also check out the two forts. If you like history, it's fairly interesting. You should have a fantastic time in Puerto Rico! I wish I was going now!

You will have a blast - you didn't say what part of the island you will be in, but pretty much the entire island is closed and on vacation from December 15 through January 10 so you should have no shortage of people celebrating and having fun. I hope you already bought a plane ticket because that is a very expensive time to go.

A fun area is the Condado and Santurce districts of San Juan - lots of bars and clubs there. Old San Juan has some good night spots as well.
