Too Much Hypocrisy?

I am totally against homosexuality no doubt about it. If you look at the christian perspective "sin is sin". Jamaica bashing gays because of their lifestyle, but isn't fornication, murders and lying consider a sin. When Prime Minister Bruce Golding was interviewed on BBC he mentioned that he will not allow "gays" to be in his cabinet, so what happen to the politicians who are committing adultery and those who are sleeping around. Nothing. No sins are higher than the other.

In general people who are committing other sins are not getting bash or murdered like the gays. "Sin is Sin". I am in total agreement with Golding but there is a lot of hypocrisy that is there on a whole

Any thoughts?

Actually, there is no Biblical list of seven deadly sins, for God has made it abundantly clear throughout scripture that all and any sins (transgressions of God's Law) are deadly and will result in our damnation.

The phrase 'Seven Deadly Sins' is a part of Roman Catholic folklore and church tradition where some sins which they personally deemed as ruin to spiritual progress, was labled deadly or capital, but this teaching has no foundation in the scriptures

Sin in the eyes of god is just sin, but in the eyes of men & women, all sins are NOT equal. Pedophile is not the same as a petty thief. A rapist is not the same as a petty thief.

The rules for how all these natural or moral offenses are dealt with are NOT universal. USA is free to set thier rules, UK and Jamaica likewise.

First of all i think you are sweet are you single?

I agree with u sin is sin. But the difference i think is that Buggery is also against the law and fornication and adultery are not. I just dont think that Jamaican should bow under international pressures to change or policy that is ALL. This is our country and i am sure that many jamaicans are not ok with many of the laws and policy in Canada and the US but we cannot force them to change them so we WILL NOT CHANGE OUR LAWS because they want us to.

I dont believe homosexuals should be beaten or murdered but i believe that they should keep their nastiness to themselves. It is NOT OK in Jamaica and that is the RULE. THAT IS FINAL. So if u want to do it, do ur think but just dont get caught or u could just leave the country and go to the ones that u can practice ur lifestyle freely. I hear England is granting assylum to gays, maybe they should look into that.

I totally understand what u mean. But Jamaicans just do not like gays. Buggery is a CRIME here so what kind of prime minister would Bruce be if he allowed known criminals to sit in his cabinet??? Adultery and lying are frowned upon yes but they aren't outlawed. A sinner is a sinner but a battyman (gay) is a criminal here, in fact not just gays, but men who practice having anal sex with women are criminal too and if we see them dem get beaten worse than the gay dem.

Hypocrisy.....
Well if we are talking about that lets get to the root of it, what place more than the bible has more hypocrital thinking. In the old testament it preached an eye for an eye, then in the new testament it was thou shall not kill. It speaks against incest but yet if Adam and Eve were the only two on earth that bore both Cane and Able where did cane and ables wives come from???? nuh must Eve, which would mek dem wives dem sisters. In addition to that you must love thy neighbor but God condemed sodom and gomora and murdered the people, when everyone that sins can be forgiven.
The fact remains in life with all things great and small there will be two sides of the fence. I dont beleive in killing anyone whether they be gay or straight.
I do however shun homosexuality and am disgusted by its practices especially in men. I firmly believe in a higher judgement and I think that they and all those that sin and don't repent including ma self will be held accountable for their actions.
As far as your remark no sins are higher than the other that is incorrect, remember the bible speaks of the 7 deadliest sins:

Greed-, like lust and gluttony, a sin of excess. However, greed (as seen by the church) is applied to the acquisition of wealth in particular. St. Thomas Aquinas wrote that greed was "a sin against God, just as all mortal sins, in as much as man condemns things eternal for the sake of temporal things

Gluttony-, meaning to gulp down or swallow, gluttony is the over-indulgence and over-consumption of anything to the point of waste. In the Christian religions, it is considered a sin because of the excessive desire for food, or its withholding from the needy

Sloth-More than other sins, the definition of sloth has changed considerably since its original inclusion among the seven deadly sins. In fact it was first called the sin of sadness or despair. It had been in the early years of Christianity characterized by what modern writers would now describe as melancholy: apathy, depression, and joylessness — the last being viewed as being a refusal to enjoy the goodness of God and the world he created.

Lust-Lust (or lechery) is usually thought of as involving obsessive or excessive thoughts or desires of a sexual nature. Unfulfilled lusts sometimes lead to sexual or sociological compulsions and/or transgressions including (but obviously not limited to) sexual addiction, adultery, bestiality, rape, and incest

Wrath-Wrath (or anger) may be described as inordinate and uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger. These feelings can manifest as vehement denial of the truth, both to others and in the form of self-denial, impatience with the procedure of law, and the desire to seek revenge outside of the workings of the justice system (such as engaging in vigilantism)and generally wishing to do evil or harm to others

Envy-
Like greed, envy is characterized by an insatiable desire; they differ, however, for two main reasons. First, greed is largely associated with material goods, whereas envy may apply more generally. Second, those who commit the sin of envy desire something that someone else has which they perceive themselves as lacking. Dante defined this as "love of one's own good perverted to a desire to deprive other men of theirs."

and

Pride....In almost every list pride ( or hubris or vanity) is considered the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins, and indeed the ultimate source from which the others arise. It is identified as a desire to be more important or attractive than others, failing to give compliments to others though they may be deserving of them,[citation needed] and excessive love of self (especially holding self out of proper position toward God).

bottomline the world is not and will not be perfect.sorry so drawn out
