Transportation from Montego Bay to Ocho Rio? f?

What is the best way to get to the RIU Hotel in Ocho Rios from the Montego Bay airport. If bus, is there a site where I can make a reservation.

Thanks!!

No there isn't a site where you can make a reservation. Unless it's a large group of you and you want to charter something. But you can ask the hotel's front desk to get you a cab or there might be some sort of shuttle service. Make sure any transportation you take has a red license plate with white lettering (those are the legal buses/taxis and they have insurance to reflect their intended purpose).

their are lot of Busses from Montego Bay Ocho Rios the fare is about JD$300 US$5

Car Rental
Rental cars are pricey, and are available from most major rental companies. Renters must possess a valid driver’s license. A security deposit will need to be posted with either a credit card or cash. Service stations are open daily but accept only cash. The speed limit is 30 mph in town and 50 mph on the highways. Insurance costs $12 per day ($15 for jeeps) and is well worth the investment.

Taxis
Taxis are the most popular method of transportation for travelers, and can be summoned at any hotel, the airports and most shopping areas.

WARNING: Not all of Jamaica’s cabs are metered. We recommend that you agree on a price before entering the taxi in order to avoid any “confusion” about charges.

If you need a taxi, contact the official carrier: Jamaica Union of Travelers Association or JUTA, 876-952-0813, in Montego Bay.

AUTHORS’ TIP: Look for red PPV license plates; these indicate legitimate taxis.
Many taxi drivers in Montego Bay offer their services as island guides. If you accept a driver’s offer for this service, be sure to agree on a price before the vehicle is put into gear. Expect to pay about US $50 and up for a partial day of touring.

Bus Service

Bus travel is popular among locals. The vehicles (often minibuses) can be crowded and slow, and are generally not air-conditioned. Buses generally will stop anywhere along the route to pick up passengers. To catch one, stand by the side of the road with your arm outstretched; pat down with your hand when you see an oncoming bus. Minibuses are used for short hauls.

Your travel agent or hotel should provide for this as the previous answer indicated. The vehicles that take you are just like airport shuttle buses that are common in the U.S. They are air conditioned and comfortable. Many of the drivers are informative about their country. They will stop about half way for a drink or a bite to eat. Jamaican drivers are NUTS! The new road is a 3 lane road and cars will use any of the three no matter which way they are going. You might even pass cars on both sides of you going the opposite way. Scary at first, but then you realize that they work things out and are accustomed to it.

well im glad that u really asked this question...... RIU is an all inclusive hotel and everything is included..food, drinks and transportation..... all u have to do is call the hotel a day before u arrive and tell them ur flight arrival time and they will arrange transportation for you to get there.(the resort bus.. so no worry about security issues.. ur safe as if u were on the property).... or u could visit the desk at arrivals but the problem with waitin until u get to Mobay to get the transportation is that u might miss a bus and will have to wait for the next transport down which might be three hours away......
Being a business traveller to Ja i can bet that the first way will cost u nothing and you will truely begin ur vacation from the minute u take off from home...... so no worry about ur travel plans just call the hotel and they will be happy to take care of it at no extra charge....... do it and let me know....
