We were in Holguin Cuba last year. I would definitely bring disposable nappies as Cuba is in very short supply of things like soap, shampoo, toothpaste, feminine products, medical supplies, etc. We brought such toiletries to give to the staff that work at the resort that we stayed in, and they were very much appreciated. |

We were in Cayo Coco in Cuba this April and I can honestly say we did not see disposable nappies in the shops, but would it be possible for you to take towelling nappies with you instead, most of the hotels have fantastic laundry facilities and will wash whatever you want, failing that can you get in touch with the travel agent you booked your holiday with and ask them, they should be able to check it out for you, Thomas Cook are really helpful so maybe you could try them, take some mossie spray with you too and spray it on your legs from the knees down each evening before you go out as the sand flies are little beggars and bite you, we had no problem with mossies though, take antihistamines and every conceivable medical product you can, a small cheap first aid kit and lots of sun lotion as all of these are basically none existent in Cuba and if they do sell them they are really expensive, don't forget your hubby's shaving gear either as that is nearly £10 for a tin of shaving gel, the Cubans are fantastic people and absolutely adore children and will do anything for you to make you holiday even more fantastic for you, the weather is so brilliant there you only need swimwear and shorts for the day and light clothes for the night, have a fantastic time, I am sure you will it is a truly beautiful place and so relaxing. |

Take absolutely everything you need. They have nothing there. Not a very good place to take a baby. |

I'd take them with you if I were you - they do have everything there but it won't be the brands you are used to (pretty much everything is state-produced) and if your baby has a bad reaction to them there won't be anything you can do about it.
Don't let if put you off - with enough you're planning you'll be fine. Cuba's one of the best places I've ever travelled - hope you have a good time :) |

Take it with you....You maybe disappointed in other brands. |

Take them with you. You will not be able to buy quality, nor have selection when you are there. In fact, you may not even find anywhere selling them (unless you go into the local's stores which you as a tourist are not supposed to) It's not really part of the tourist trade to sell diapers and such. Plus, you will likely be at the resort (not Holguin the city) so there is even less available.
In fact, bring extra supplies or clothing (socks, onsies, diaper pins are like gold!) and leave behind. Cubans can't afford all the latest and greatest, and still use cloth diapers.
Cubans love babies - you will be a popular person at the resort!! |

Take all your toiletries (baby and otherwise) with you. It's a beautiful country, amazing people, incredible culture but don't expect to be able to shop apart from a few bare essentials from the hotel shop which will be expensive. I've been to Cuba six times (different places) and the story's the same wherever you go. Go prepared and you'll enjoy it. |

Better you take anything you need with you. It's difficult to find those things in Cuba. |

I would advise that you take some just in case of emergencies. It is highly likely that you'll be able to get some there, but I wouldn't want to speak for some of the smaller out of the way towns you'll probably travel through.
Other than that Cuba is a fantastic place and I hope you enjoy it. |

Have been to Holguin twice and hardly spent any money. There is nothing to buy. Take everything you need with you to be on the safe side. Don't get me wrong it's a wonderful place to go on holiday or I wouldn't have revisited. |

In vat they sell disposable diapers we are not so bad. Now perhaps in holguin it is but difficult to find perhaps if you go first there by the habana if you find them easy but for sure it is but cheap and of better quality in your country but of having there is that if. But it is better than you take for security it won't be that there is not. |

I know it was some years ago when we visited the Holguin area, but unless things have changed radically, everything will be in short supply, and unless your tourist hotel supplies what you need, it would be very unwise to hope the few shops open will have stocks of nappies.
There is/was no parallel in the capitalist world to compare with the everyday shortages experienced by Cubans.
I went there as a vehement supporter of Castro's bravery, but was not prepared for the widespread poverty.
Many people will tell you that in retrospect they wished they'd taken suitcases full of basic items like clothes, soap, and toothpaste, to give away to the people who have nothing.
Most still have a fierce pride in their country however. |

They have virtually nothing in Cuba, sweetie......couldn't you have picked a better place???? |
