Awsome, I just got back from Negril last week and I also stayed at Legends! :)

I would ck with Jamaica Tours, it's on the left side right before you leave the airport (Montego Bay Int'l). I got round trip from Montego to Negril-Legends and back for about 30bucks.

Once there, you can ck with Jennifer or any the lovely girls in the reception area for day tours from Legends. They are quit cheep and provide both transportation and admission to Ocho Rios and other attractions.

Taxis are cheep during the day, but more at night in Negril. So make sure you discuss price before you get in.

Please say hello to Ramseys and Mr. Miller, security gards, very nice people and they will surely help you out.

P.S.,
Go all inclusive, you will save money in the long run, and take small bills, lots of singles if possible. If you get money from ATM, get it in Jamaican currency, you will save money in trying to convert it from US to JA.

Here's some good stufff:

-jet skiing or parasailing (can be found anywhere on the beach, you won't have to look hard)
-the Jungle nightclub on thursdays, it's ladies night so ladies are free before 12am, and this is the most popular night of the week for the Jungle: it's usually packed & really fun
-Alfred's on sundays, tuesdays, or fridays.. they have live reggae at night and around 12am they play dancehall music, and people dance in the bar area
-Scrub-a-dub.. it's definately more of a local place (not many tourists) but its a good party spot.. most people go there around 3am when the parties on the beach are done.. it's a stripclub, which would be odd for a girl to be going there in the US, but in jamaica it's normal
-On the Rocks is a bar on the westend that has good dancehall music on wednesdays, good DJ
-Rick's cafe: nice to watch the sunset there & have a few drinks.. you can go cliff jumping or just watch the pros do tricks
-Margaritavilla is a bar on the beach.. it can be a little pricey but they have a water trampoline, a rock climbing wall, and 52 flavours of margaritas :)

Places like "Scrub-a-Dub" you may want to try on later trips when you feel more comfortable with Negril, as I'm assuming this is your first trip.

When you get to Legends, just ask around to the staff (like, the bartenders or security guards) where the good place to go out for the night is, and they'll be happy to tell you :)

Also, about your taxi situation from Montego Bay to Negril, you should be able to get them for around US$60

A cab from Mobay to Negril should be about US$100 (could be less). There are many available, but be sure to take one of the OFFICIAL taxis such as 'JUTA' taxis. There should be a offical taxi stand or dispatch centre at the airport. Taxi's associated with these official bases are most reliable, with proper insruance and standards to abide by.

As far as Negril to Ocho Rios, yes. In fact, you can get a cab to carry you just about anywhere in Jamaica. If you do a little research on the ground, you probably could get one to carry you to ocho rios for the same US$100.

If you intend to visit tourist attractions in Ocho Rios, it may be cheaper to contact a tour company that does shuttles or bus tours. You would probably have a more indepth visit to ocho rios this way, and would have a tour guide (telling you more about the sights along the journey).

You'll have no problems staying in Negril to find stuff to do . The "strp" has it all there with everything a resort town has to offer here in the states, including a NEW waterpark, moped rentals, etc., including all thats been mentioned. Go out to the "Jungle" nightclud one night too...

Ochi ( Ocho Rios ) has all thats been mentioned...Dunns River, Dolphin Cove, Jet Ski rentals, Helicopter Rides, Chuka Cove ( mountain biking, horseback riding, ATV tours ), Casino, LOTS Of shopping, and good vibes ;-)

Price for a CHARTER taxi from airport to Negril is $100 as stated, but the tour companies run buses for $25-$30 per person...THATS the best deal. If your willing, a route taxi can take you the for about $10, but not directly...you'll need to transfer into 3 or 4 different taxi's, and the ride is crowded & scary ( for you ).

Best way from Negril to Ochi is the "local" buses found in every town at the "buspark". Again, its crowed & a crazy ride, but one will take you to Negril to Montego Bay & another from MoBay to Ochi for about $5-$6 per person for each bus. Anyother means will cost you BIG time, as it is a 4 hour ride. Renting a car is an option...runs about $50 per day.

In Negril, try the beach, Rick's Cafe, the craft market, jerk. As for a taxi, have you asked the resort about transportation? Though they don't advertise it, a lot will provide free transportation between MoBay and Negril as they make the run anyway. If you take a taxi, make sure it's an official taxi and look at the condition of the cab before you get in. Insist on the meter. You can travel from Negril to Ochi but it's probably a 4 hour drive each way. Check with the resort about a tour to Ochi (Dunn's River Falls at least). Enjoy the trip.

Ocho Rios

Dunn's River Falls ! A waterfall + beach put together. The most famous waterfall ever !

Hooves it's also in Ocho Rios. You can ride on horses in the water.

Dolphin Cove - Also in Ocho Rios. You can swim with dolphins and also touch iguanuas, lizards..etc. Basically if your an animal lover this will be a fun experience !

well im going to negril in 3 weeks also and im leaving on the 26 but im from their so my unlce is picking me up from the airport and i realy dont know how long it is to negril but once ur their ur going to have fun even if un dont go anywhere cuz just being in a calm place where noone is bugging u its nice but u can try cosmos ,ricks cafe, marybay beach if u realy want to get to know how it is for the peeps who live in negril and i live right up the hill from mary bay but im leaving this month and returning next month so i hope u have fun on ur trip and dont forget even if u dont do anything ull still have fun cuz being their is fun itself
