Depending where you are going on Cuba, the answer to this question will change. When I went to Varadero, I enjoyed going on a day trip to Havana. We were able to go on a guided tour of the city and see many attractions within Havana. The market in Varadero is also a must. There you will reasonably prices gifts for all ages.

When I went to Holguin, the attraction that was the most memorable was swimming with the dolphins.

No matter where you go, Cuba offers plenty of tours. Enjoy your trip. :)

Havana is very interesting. See the Capitol - it looks a lot like the US Capitol (it was modeled after it). There are some museums that would be worth going to. There's also a market in the old square, the church in the square is beautiful and you can buy souvenirs at the market. Walk along the malecon and have a mojito (they originated in Cuba). You might also want to try to get to some of the beaches outside of Havana.

The people of Cuba are some of the warmest, nicest, most welcoming people I have ever met. Have fun!
