Trinidad and Tobago has more tourism potential?

I am not saying that we need to focus wholeheartedly on tourism. I think that alot of Trinis are not aware of the great stuff our country as to offer. Trinidad and Tobago is the ultimate package. Trinis dont know the level of beauty that the island has. There are alot of "undiscovered" beaches. Most people only go to Maracas and Chaguaramas. We have alot of hiking trails, waterfalls, birdwatching. Most trinis dont even go to some of the great attractions. Trinidad can be a major Eco tourism destination right behind Dominica.

I know Tobago is known for its beaches and the coral reefs but there has been alot of violence against tourist. I wish that would stop

i hear yuh boy Johnny we perfer more quarry less trees, soon we have to eat bricks and drink sand.

*** Just so that u know eh, it have a Amerindian site up in the Maracas Valley hills.... things will make get goose bumps. Stone carving and remains of old plantation houses, i am guessing early 1800's. Sad thing is that almost nobody cares to declare it a heritage site.

Yes Trinidad does have the potential to become a top tourist destination but I personally think the government is to concerned with the oil industry and the crime wave in TnT is not making tourism any better. But Tobago does get a lot of European tourists and cruise ships.

i agree t&t has so much potential is an understatement i went to the beach down erin an man is like two beach in one it have a sand bank going straight across the water but not far out man that does look bad so other places as mentioned but like they doh care man. an not only in tobago it have violence against tourist it's like a trend right now

I agree with you. Trinidad & Tobago can be an ultimate tourism destination. We just never developed it...just like the plenty other things under developed...mainly...health...water....r... ehhhh...sorry...gettling little carried away.

But...seriously....beauty in the twin islands....culture fuh so....beautiful ppl...partying like fus time....FOOD Boy, FOOD!...religions living in peace....holidays enjoyed by all...the beach and river lime....sunday drive to Asa Wright or La Vega.....what ever your pleasure. Plays at the central bank and queens hall. Yes boy...we have so much.....and yet...something gone wrong.

Fact: Trinidadians are not as subservant as Tobagonians.
Fact: Tourist is just another Trini (Notice I didn't say Trinbagonian) and if they step outa line they getting cuss the same way.
Fact: We need more reasonably priced housing for guess. It must also be out of town.
Fact: Trinidadians will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER settle for private beach front paid resorts.
Fact: Tourium down plays the locals and establishes a state of tourist higer empowerment (in other words locals feel they chupidy to tourist).

It will be tough....but yuh have a better chance of snow in St. Joseph.

Trinidad is destroying it's natural beauty day in day out. The tourism potential is rapidly decreasing. I am not sure if people notice; but Movie Towne was built on swamplands that were eradicated in mass amounts to provide the new center, each day more and more of the natural landscape is being destroyed without in Impact Statements being drafted. It is only a matter of time before species start becoming extinct. It seems as though the present adminstration believes that an industrial approach can harmonize with a natural approach. It doesn't work that way; the only countries able to do so were the Scandanavian nations and parts of the UK. Tourists are more flocking to Barbadoes, Bermuda, Bahamas and Jamaica for their caribbean fixes. Just recently one of my colleagues was planning to choose a "pristine" area in the caribbean for his anniversary, places like Jamaica and Bahamas came up.

If you people don't get the PIRATES and PIRACY under control.. you can KISS THE CRUISING SAILORS GOOD BYE... it's going to take a lot more than just talking about it and the so-called government wringing it's hands... if they don't get out and start SHOOTING PIRATES.. you can just about kiss your cruising sailboat business good-bye.
