Yes you can bring your cell phone with you. It's not a major GPS system that they're concerned about. Most phones have a built in GPS system. But it's not the type of GPS that one needs to be worried about.

*edit: Walkie-talkies are now allowed in Cuba for tourists. However, they must be registered at customs when entering and you must bring them back with you.

MC mentioned a good point to consider...but if you're from Canada, you probably won't be questioned. However, be prepared to as some customs officers might question you and expect you to declare and register your items; making sure it also leaves the country with you.

But nothing to stress about. Have a nice trip.

You can bring it... its not as crazy as everyone says...... I saw kids walking through customs with MP3 players in their ears and playing nintendo DS's..... the thing is if you lose them, its your fault and never leave this stuff on the beach... or its gone..... dont think cubans are all honest, they are not... we had many things go missing over the course of a week and so did many other people in our party... oakleys, books, toys.... and cloths..... so keep it close to you at all times or leave it in the safe.

absolutely no problem, I returned from Cuba in December, my cell had gps it was in my carry on bag, not even a question about it. I suggest you don't use your cell too much, my service provider is Rogers in Canada. The roaming charge $4.00 per minute. Ouch. My bill $52.00 from Rogers on my last bill,.

Can i please make a comment here. As this person has not said where they are flying from.
From Canada things on the airlines may be a little different, however from the UK i do know that they will ask if anyone has GPS on their phones they are required to declare this.

i guess whoever put the thumbs down has flown to Cuba from the UK. I did not say they had to hand them in only that they had to declare they had one
I am telling you what happens every time i had to fly out. fine whatever i shall leave things to the experts who know it all shall i?
