What you don't have reservation for Christmas week? You are a brave soul. How can we help if you don't say what island you going to?
Best hotel to stay in on St Thomas is the Ritz or Marriott
Best Hotel to stay in on St John is Caneel Bay or The Westin
Best hotel to stay in on St Croix is Buccaneer Hotel or Divi Carina Bay Resort.
What to do:
On St Croix go to Buck Island
St Thomas- tour the island, hit all the beaches, go shopping. Enjoy all the great restaurants. Go on a boat excursion to the BVI
St John- rent a jeep and explore the island and all the pristine beaches. Tour the National Park and Annaberg ruins. Drive to the east end and have lunch at Vie's Shack

Enjoy the USVI, where ever island you end up on)

If you go to St. John, Trunk Bay is a must see also ask about some of the other beaches...Hawksnest,Cinnimon,Francis. As far as bars go.. Well lets see, Woodys Seafood Saloon is World famous and is easy to get to from the ferry dock, just walk about 50 yards straight off the dock. The Beach Bar is another must try also. Have a great time...

All the beaches we have tried were great. Whats best is grab a cab and ask the driver, if you check at your hotel they may have somebody they would recommend. Our driver took us to an out of the way beach where we had to climb down a path to get to it. Best of all we were the only ones there for over 2 hours. We arranged a pickup time for our driver to return and he started honking his horn about 1/2 mile up the road. He then came down to help us back up the path with out things.
The shopping is great all around. St. Johns is pristine...you have to visit there. See the links below for St. Thomas info. We try to go every year and I keep links all the time.

check out www.doubloon.com they offer a snorkeling excursion for cruise ship passengers, don't know if they offer it for others.
if you look through the party pictures main page you will see a guy shoveling snow. that was me 2 weeks after an '05 cruise, I still hadn't cooled off. They take people to a island which is a bird sanctuary to dive in Turtle cove, it was a very fine experience.

Spend time at the beaches- the islands are very boring actually- just relax and if you really not some excitement go for water sports. I recommend the Ritz Carlton in St. Thomas...and completelty encourage you not to stay at any marriot's in the area....very boring...

I'm going to St John, usvi tomorrow. The best place to stay there is the Westin, or Caneel Bay. We are going on a ferry tour of surrounding islands, which sounds fun. Other good stuff to do is snorkeling, hiking around the National park, and relaxing and enjoying the beautiful beaches! Have fun!
